Iron Banner Event is Horrible
This Iron Banner event is horrible not only have you only released one weapon it's a reissue not anything new, not to mention you inflated I the on banner loot pool to the point it's a ridiculous low chance to even acquire the event weapons and the IB handcannon.
Who bright idea was to throw all the crucible and Iron banner weapons and armor in the same loot pool this is a "Iron Banner Event" all items that exclusive Iron banner should be only dropping.
It literally took me 40 runs just to get 1 shotgun handcannon to drop, 10 for the trace rifle, 13 for the IB handcannon the rest are nothing more then 3 different sets of armor and now they appearing more less to the point it's ridiculous.
NOTE: The previous seasonal armor and weapons should be at the Vanguard and Crucible vendors for sale not in the portal all you doing is inflating portal loot drops

My biggest gripe is that the stats aren't tracking my IB matches at all.

My IB experience starts and ends with connection issues that I believe aren't related to my connection. An issue with the game is there always being some new weapon to chase. Personally I think Destiny suffers an issue from over saturation of drops from past years compared to lowering the release schedule in current years. There's only so many combinations they can come up with.

3 RepliesNo new weapons and the one they did give is bad. Armor is ugly, should have been the gladiator set and the armor barely drops. Loby balancing is awful. Why should we play the game? All the content is old and not fun and sure we can level up but why, your going to reset everything when renegades gets here. Their isn't even much loot in a looter shooter. They only added a handful of weapons that are new.

I was more interested/more excited about Ash and Iron and returning to the plague lands than I ever was about the Nine and Edge of Fate. Of course Bungie does the same lazy nonsense of not giving us a full patrol zone and limiting it to a boring activity that is just a reskinned Pale Heart event. Iron Banner was shelved for a few months for this...so they could make exactly one new weapon drop in the tiered loot system, lmfao. This company. SMH.

1 ReplyI just don't understand why Bungie is so afraid to repeat the reward structure from Solstice. If they treated rewards like Solstice, we would tolerate Iron Banner and other events way more. But no. They teased us by raining Tier 5s during Solstice and then decided to never treat us like that again.

Why is it so hard to make rewards meaningful? Edit: Also, for the life of me, I can't understand making curated rolls that drop from event ranks tier 3 if it's only gonna have one set of perks on it.

Playing more IB. It looks like not only is the one Iron Banner Event reward an Iron banner item. But the "Bonus" Engrams all drop as Iron Banner loot. Playing 3 matches of one mode of Iron Banner seems to build the Bonus Engrams of the other Iron Banner mode to the max of three. Then completing it turns them all into Iron Banner items. If those are the only items your after. Then Going back and forth between the two Iron Banner modes might be the quickest way to farm them.

Been using IB weapons and they are still good. Been getting multiple t5 drops and power climbing. Already guilded the title in two days what used to take me a week if not more. Yes I agree the event track sucks but IMO its overall better experience.

I agree. The Iron Banner loot should be dropping exclusively. Especially since it’s only for a week.

It's been like that for a long time now. It's just a way to inflate player engagement by making it take alot longer to get what you actually want.

Iron Banner has always been fun for me. It still is. However I have been noticing a horrible load time when it comes to getting into a match. I'm used to the cheaters who 2 tap with any weapon and take full clips just to kill. I'm used to the radar manipulation and speed hacks. I'm used to going against multiple stacks and getting crushed but I'm also used to getting some nice balanced matches with people using non meta I can't think for myself builds. I'm most definitely used to going against players with low power levels, low tired armor while rocking no mods with guns that are at level 1 with no mods in them all while destroying the competition. I try to find the silver lining and work with it. Complaining all the v time does very little for the state of this game. It just further brings out down.

I've enjoyed the event. It's cashed me out. I played 3 days, finished the pass, went up 20 levels (got to 400), got the new armor for all 3 characters, got like 5 tier 5s to drop, and a bunch of unstable cores from breaking down gear I didn't want. Only thing I didn't like about it was how the community played it. Teams running to the edge of the map to team shoot with mida/other scouts made it boring in some matches.

Yeah it sucks getting the ugly world drops. Those drop tier 5 . Iron banner gear only drops tier 4 for me.

2 RepliesI agree with you on the expectations of getting IB gear from IB, but consider that some players who don't typically engage in PvP see this as an opportunity to get some of that gear. Maybe a better suggestion would be to have the IB gear weighted to have a higher drop rate but still allow for other things to drop as well?

Idk. Destiny is a number grind, not a loot grind. Doesn’t matter what drops or the rolls, as long as it makes number go up.

1 ReplyAt LL over 470 win or lose it's 3 to 5 pieces of T5. I've gotta all the God rolls and holos from IB these past few days, and am working on alts for armor sets. I can see under 450 these events all such, but once you ground out the levels, you do swim in T5. I only care about T5 weapons, the rest will seem useless after the light level reset. Win rate is about 50/50...but who cares?

You are getting the Crucible loot from the normal rewards for a PvP match. And you are getting a bonus of one rewards from the iron banner loot pool. You are getting one Iron banner item a match, from a pool of 3 weapons and 5 armor. So you have a 1 in 8 chance at any item your after in the Iron Banner rewards. Well, almost 1 in 8. Because there is a super low chance you get the cross-bow as your Iron Banner reward. Each match your getting one Iron Banner Reward. One Crucible Reward. With a chance at extra drops. However, I believe past Iron Banners gave you two Iron Banner rewards a match. So this is certainly a downgrade.

As is new player experience, story missions, level progression, RNG, loot supers and abilities, lore, servers, etc etc etc.

With the limited loot pool, at least Bungie should have removed regular world drops from the loot pool. It seems these have 10x or higher weight instead. Let’s not even talk about the crossbow, that’s a myth.
