Guys… I have been having a horrible time with this issue… and I have FOUND MY FIX. Really hoping that it also works for all of you as well….
My computers default refresh rate was set to 60. I set it to the highest my monitor had (144) and my game looks better than ever
Go to settings, system, display, ——> under related settings choose advanced display ——->select the correct monitor—— choose a refresh rate
If your refresh rate is low, the game will look choppy with the new settings since edge of fate. Something about how the refresh rate was affected by borderless fullscreen.

Edited by Crisidelm: 8/13/2025 3:01:24 PMAs far as I know, Exclusive Fullscreen handles the screen refresh while Windowed Fullscreen uses the refresh that's set in the OS, so yes, that's probably why many see choppy frames, the refresh is mismatched between the game and the monitor for them now. That is also probably why I have not suffered any problem so far, my OS uses the native display refresh rate which in turn also supports AMD Freesync (which should take care of the aforementioned mismatch by itself though: doesn't your monitor have the same or similar technology?).

Essentially before eof the exclusive fullscreen was making sure the refresh rate was correct. After eof launch, my refresh rate was then dictated by the os refresh rate which I had never changed because there was no need to prior. I believe I’m only one of many who have had this issue

Yes you are correct! Before when we had exclusive fullscreen my os refresh rate was 60 but looked great. Now that there is a mismatch I just needed to set it to 144, I believe this is the same reason many are having choppy frame rates
