Wouldn’t apply to bungie since they’re an American based company and European law can’t demand a foreign company give up its intellectual property rights. Also in order to sign you need to be a European

  • If bungo doesn't comply with EU laws, they can't distribute and sell games in EU countries. So yes, they have to follow EU laws. Or they'll lose even more players.

  • Go read the initiative or watch Accursed Farms videos before you jump to that conclusion. It doesn't ask for indefinite servers.

  • I mean, China banned Gatcha games or something similar. As a result, a lot of these games became more deterministic and by extension, far better as a result.

  • Not the same issue. Even still, chinas ban isn’t as bad as this one. Chinas ban basically boils down to removing the over monetization of games, IE forced micro transactions. The European initiative would legally require companies to surrender their intellectual property rights to the community. The initiative basically asserts that the European Union make it so companies that make live service games no longer own their intellectual property. This law would disincentivize companies from offering their services in Europe, so come next cycle some multiplayer game companies won’t offer servers in Europe.
