Concussive should work against any aoe, not just non elemental. Melee shouldn’t just be melee and neither should sniper, those are references to ranges not literal attacks. That’s just more of the issue you’re complaining about. I mean you made a good point with the elementals mods but you stretched with the other three.

  • Concussive does if I remember right… Sort of like how Solar and Sniper resistance protect against a Hobgoblin lighting you up at range with a sniper. So Void and Concussive would stack for let’s say a Taken Meatball bomb thing…

    I know that Sniper resistance protects against ranged attacks. and that Melee is close attacks. The issue with Sniper attacks is that, as soon as you break that distance, that mod is completely useless.

  • But it protects against all damage types at that range. So if there’s a mix of enemies shooting you at that range (for example some Solar Line Rifles and Void Torch Hammers) you’d block both while a damage type resist would work better if it’s all one damage type. I pretty much stick with damage type oriented ones unless there are a lot of close range or rush enemies (for melee resist)

  • LEveryone mod has a point where it becomes useless. And your melee attack idea makes it less useful by ignoring close range weapon attacks.

  • Ehmmm, no ? Concissive dampener is explosive, last time i checked, Sniper and linear shots were not explosives. Same goes to melee. What you are suggesting is one mod to cover all of the attacks.

  • I didn’t suggest anything, I was illustrating your logic. You want to shuffle what the mods to to broaden some and niche others. Non elemental explosive damage is rare compared to elemental aoes. Moving close range elemental attacks into the elemental mod, expanding its coverage twice. Having sniper have no range at all, encroaching on the melee mods range of effect. In other words you want to min max coverage to get two or three mods into one. The mods are fine as they are. Elemental mods resist direct attacks, concussive resists aoes, melee close range attacks and sniper long range. You just don’t seem to get theres a difference between an aoe attack, like the one that leaves a pool of fire on the ground, with a direct attack like a solar sniper shot. Which should have been apparent when they made a mod for aoe attacks…

  • As the title says, Resistance mods protects against what is said. Bungie decided to name close ranged attacks, Melee. Not me. So it is perfectly acceptable for people to think that it will protect against melee attacks only. Same goes for Sniper mod. I do know that fire is aoe, i mentioned it in my post.

    Only if they only read the title and the not the text that describes what it does… Right below the mod title it has a small blurb that says ‘attacks at point blank range’ which means it’s referencing melee [i]range[/i], not melee attacks. Same with sniper, reference to range. Which means any misunderstanding is player error, not a design flaw.

  • It is called Melee and it has an icon of a fist. If the error is on anyone, it would be Bungie. Close quarter dampener or reduction could have been a much more accurate name. Calling it melee when it protects against more than just a melee, is quite misleading.

  • If you don’t read, it’s on you. Especially when the info is right there every single time you hover over it. It’s called willful ignorance. I’ve never heard of anyone saying the perk headseeker is misleading. Do you know that Shoulder Charge is actually a flying knee when airborne? It’s almost like the entire game is filled with not 100% accurate labels. “Misleading” implies negative connotations, in this case it would be Melee with a fist but doesn’t protect against actual melee attacks. Melee protecting against melee attacks and close range attacks is simply [i]understating[/i] all it can do. So far the only thing you’ve gotten right is now the labels are not 100% accurate. Which indicates that you should read…

  • You are the only one displaying will full ignorance here. All i said is that the mods should do what they claim to do. You are the one making claims and accusations here. I said that it is perfectly acceptable to think that Melee protect is going to protect against melee. No one would expect it to aid against Shotguns, now would they ? Bungie named it Melee rather than close quarter, they narrowed it down to one specific thing and further implied what it does by using a fist icon. Further more i did acknowledge that Area of effect attacks, such as fire, is tied to the Concussive dampener. So if i chose to be ignorance to the info of the mods, then how would i have known that ? I have displayed my awareness of the mods by giving examples. No ignorance from me here.

    Again i displayed knowledge of what the mods does, Where is the ignorance ? Let me guess, you realized that you were wrong but are to embarrassed to admit it. I won't shame, i don't care about doing that.

I mean the title is so obvious that there shouldn't be any questions. This post is about how the mods should protect against what they say. Like fire is solar so solar protects against fire. Simple. Let me simplify it even more. It should protect against what the name of the mod is not for what ever Bungie decides that it should. So if there is a mod called Melee damage resistance, then it should protect against Melee attacks and not Shotguns. Hopefully this simplistic explanation helps you to understand what this post is about. If not than i don't know what to tell you.
