I think they are still relevant. I mean getting 50% of your melee just for landing a hit is pretty good, plus the overshield when sprinting.
Maybe buff max sprint speed and add more melees to the list of melees that can be used. Like ballistic slam, and the stasis melee.
They could add 3.0 verbs, like makes amplified while sprinting with full melee, and gives void overshield.

Right now they’re outclasses by peregrine and skullfort. Any build that would use them could use those other two better. Peregrine is the kind if single target melee dmg (for non bosses) and skullfort is the king of add clear and can even handle some larger targets depending in difficulty. Tbh I think there are too many titan melee exotics that there will always be some overlap so each one should have something unique that isn’t just a gimmick

That's not true. Mk44s synergies with the exotic sword world line zero and neither of those other exotics do. Also both of those require kills and only work with specific sub classes or against certain enemy types.

Edited by ImperialStew: 3/21/2025 3:20:43 PMSorry what?? How does it synergize with it? Also remember you can’t use powered melee abilities while holding a sword so part of the armor’s ability would be blocked when using a sword. Peregrine works with every shoulder charge as well, skullfort can loop any arc melee. The only good pve use-case I’ve seen for the standasides is the solar build

Mk44 gives an overshield while sprinting with full melee. World line zero's heavy attack requires you to sprinting before activating. So if you have MK44s equipped, you gain an overshield. It can be strong in pvp. Again, peregrine only refunds energy on kills vs ultras, champions, and tormentors. So against minors and majors, mk44 is better for ad clear. Skull fort is strong for both, but is limited to arc. The only thing I think they should do is change the overshield to void, and make you amplified while sprinting with full melee. Also add ballistic slam and the stasis melee, to the list of melees.

Fair, I think reasonably overshield works regardless of if your melee is charged, the health of the overshield is dependent on how charged your melee is though, and next: On shield bash: it’s a void overshield (and lingers after you stop running as a result) On seismic strike: it makes you amplified On hammer strike: it gives you restoration x1 Each of these would synergize with their respective subclasses, run it with juggernaught on arc for bolt charges, offensive bulwark for ability regen and melee dmg bonus, or roaring flames just cause.

See, I think it should just give you both void overshield and amplified no matter what class you're on. Currently it just uses a genetic overshield which gets overriden by void overshield if you play void titan. I'd argue restoration is somewhat already built in, since if you have the sunspots aspect, then your hammer strike kill will form a sunspot and heal you. Also it might be too strong in pvp, if you gain restoration for just a hit.
