Contest mode is available for a very limited time is considered some of hardest content in the game. Most people have difficulty completing it even without the huge disadvantage of no communication. So, yeah, I completely understand why you had issues.
This sort of thing is found in all walks of life and can be applied to any disadvange a person has over the next. It's nothing new, or exclusive to destiny.

The difference with this contest mode was we had two weeks to learn strats and best dps for all encounters. I did just that. I learned. I soloed encounters to ensure I knew what I was doing. I just wanted a chance to show that even with my disadvantage, I can still help and hold my end. I'm not even mad anymore now that I have been able to get it off my chest. It just sucks sometimes ok.

Not when I have to work. Sort of the problem when you have to be on call 24/7..
