Hey there, unfortunately no there is not. You can't unlink/relink without deactivating cross-save, and that will apply the mandatory, unskippable 90-day cooldown before it can be activated again.

but what if someone does it by accident

In addition to what EckyThump said, disabling Cross-Save is a multi-step multi-webpage process, requiring clicking buttons in different locations on the screen. Disabling Cross-Save requires purpose and intent in order to be completed, including logging in to multiple platform accounts to authenticate to them. Cross-Save cannot be disabled through a simple accident. Someone may choose to disable Cross-Save for the wrong reason because of something they incorrectly thought or read online, but that's not an accident, that's a purposeful choice to do.

Edited by EckyThump: 2/21/2025 1:10:22 AMThey acknowledged what cross-save does and does not do, and agreed to the mandatory, unskippable cooldowns, during the setup process. Not by a page of small print, but by a list of statements that had to be individually acknowledged with a tickbox before the process could complete. So they agreed to be bound by the terms, regardless of the circumstances in which they disabled it.

Waited the 90 days. Just found out that sometime in March the ability to unlink accounts was removed. I doubt there’s anything that can be done at all now is there? Because this really sucks.

Unfortunately no, Bungie aren't making any exceptions.
