A treasure chest icon should be reserved only for unopened treasure chest. Hate to be the bearer of logic, but yeah, fix this, please.
-
Remove them from the HUD, or change their coloring or something (so you could still help allies find them again if necessary).
-
They clearly want you to take the chest along with the goodies
-
I thought I was losing my mind in the Nether when I would run off & come back to the same treasure chest repeatedly lol
-
Unopened chests definitely need the icon but it needs to vanish after it's been opened by all active teammates or even better be pinged to your team after you open it so all can partake in the loot then vanish after collecting and the same for ecentaha and boons
-
Just an fyi. Chests you have looted will have an Opened lid and be empty. Chests you haven't looted will have a closed lid, or if a teammate has looted it but you haven't it'll have an open lid with a pile of glimmer in it. Pro tip. Definitely notba substitute for proper icons, but does cut down on wasted time.

That's a pointless update that should have been done years ago.
-
Dear god yes. Not sure why this even needs to be said out loud.
-
They can't fix that because the dreadnaught would appear as empty as it is.
-
1 ReplyHow else am I gonna run up to the same chest I’ve already opened multiple times?
-
Agreed. Emphatically.
-
Same with icon of gun that kills us in PvP. Just something to make it look like added content.

It's been a bug since D2 launch, so God alone knows what would happen if they try to fix it. You usually don't notice because chests in the open world disappear a minute after opening them. They disabled that part for The Nether to 'encourage exploration' while completely forgetting that they also have a built in mechanism to stop them from respawning as unopened. Given that they also broke their servers, the quest progression, the previous season's content, several weapons and their dungeon bosses in under a week, we'd probably be better off just putting up with it rather than asking for any degree of technical competency.

Edited by Unprofessional Duck: 2/11/2025 11:28:03 AMI've seen people post this on the issue forum with no response from Bungie, so I'm worried this is intentional. If it is, it's really lazy.

Till then your message has been sent to junk. Hope you enjoy your day and please don’t play our game! Sincerely Bungie

Yes, this is so needlessly confusing and always has been.
