Please don’t change the name of stats to Melee, Grenade, Super, etc. Saying outloud in a party chat/discord chat “Oh this piece has 20 grenade” sounds so rough. Like no other game has that and I respect the desire for simplicity but not that way.
Ik u didn’t ask for how I would fix it but if I was in that position, I would combine stats.
Discipline would be Grenades and health regen.
Strength would be defense and melee.
Recovery would be super and mobility.
3 stats, 3 classes.
Recovery would be tied behind hunter’s class ability.
Strength would be titan’s class ability.
Discipline would be warlock’s class ability.

Yay, yet another thing to endlessly sink time and resources into. I was incredibly happy just having armor with the stats I wanted…

1 ReplyI wonder bungie might nuke my artifact armors that grind for (not class items). If so, it completely wastes my time to grind better gears again.
-
2 RepliesThey could have done so much better by having a percentage chance that scales with 101-200 stat amount which REFUNDS grenade or melee charge after kills.

Edited by TheLastBlackKnight: 10/2/2024 12:20:40 PMI finally have 4x100 stats. If they take that away from me I might just drop the game.

2 RepliesOk what has bungie been smoking no one ask for this.

9 RepliesGenuine question.. how is God Tier armor now not going to be god tier armor then? Aside from a set bonus ? Also them not talking about resilience at all makes me think something is up. Like they will be removing it as a way to soft sunset people’s current triple 100 endgame builds

10 RepliesEdited by SavvyMon: 10/2/2024 1:44:15 AMNgl they definitely were not cooking with these armor changes. They better not be gutting people’s current armor setups with these changes. I don’t have any faith that Bungie will implement this new armor system properly without butchering something related to the old armor.

It’s a nerf, just like the stat update. Where they made having less than 30 in any stat a negative. The prior baseline for cooldowns is 30, not 0. They mentioned that only once when talking about it. When they shadow nerf, they hide it. So let’s look at this. Fewer stats on armor, MODS turned into statsmention of the defensive stats like resilience? And they’ve been adding defensive abilities recently? They are lessening our build potential, which lowers offense and defense, while outright gutting defensive stats. This is blatant.

I can't wait to make a dad joke about how my armor piece must be bugged because it's not giving me 20 grenades lol

2 RepliesFarming full sets will become a thing. With rolls, type, and now sets becoming necessary vault space becomes a significant challenge. Hopefully the chart was a work in progress. Moving away from mods simplifies builds. That said it could cause significant delays in bringing a newbie up to GM equipment depending on if how drops are obtained. It is new and could be great and improve gameplay and build variety. It could be bad and cause greater grief between newbies and veterans. It could be ugly if grind to obtain is ratcheted up yet again. Hoping for the best.

2 Replies"My special ammo stat is 31 right now" So cringey just thinking sbout it 😬🤦♂️

Bungie follow the same route every dlc, people complain. Bungie wanna try something new, people complain. This is how you see people take the game way to serious, maybe start crying AFTER they put it out. maybe start learning that they dont care what the community want. THEY need to try something new to get people to come back, follow the same route wont get people back.

31 RepliesI think it’s for making it easier on newbs to understand what each stat actually does. I really like that armor will start to play a larger role in build crafting.

Your "way" is incredibly restrictive. Glad you don't work there.

Edited by Chunk: 10/2/2024 11:32:33 AMWon't these armor changes make more ability spam in pvp even
-
Maybe they should just add a tooltip when hover over the stats that could be turned off in settings if you feel like you don't need the explanation for the stats bars.

6 RepliesEdited by Bore: 10/1/2024 6:42:42 PMThe changes make it so armor is not such a pain to farm for one, while giving a reason to go after new armor.

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 10/2/2024 8:17:03 AMSince years, Bungie is changing in notorious ways his game, on the level of a beta release. Always one step forward to go two steps back. Meanwhile, the game is broken, and probably beyond repair. If it were different, Bungie would invest into human resources instead of reducing them, like they do with the reduction of personal and content. Edit: TBH, it wasn't always good, but it was never as bad as it's right now. It's not the end of the world, but for many players it's the end of Destiny 2.

2 RepliesI could not possibly care less what the stat names are, and I'm not sure why anyone would. "Wow, this armor has 20 discipline" doesn't sound any less cringe.

Look no disrespect to you in particular but sometimes I read posts and comments on here with a video of a didgeridoo playing in the background and it improves the reading experience a lot You can kinda get a similar effect with courage the cowardly dog ost but I think the more primal and simple nature of a solo didgeridoo works a bit better

elitegtryin to work with whats left.. for now - 4/3/2026 12:46:30 PM
I have an idea now that this change (the naming and stats) corresponds and leads to an idea from a forum member (SyringeX I think).. where you can control the PVP (or PVE) amount of abilities very strongly and directly with the armor.. ...this may give Bungie then a clearer way to tune ability generation for different modes and separate sandboxes with either Rituals like Crucible getting their own armor or other methods... -
It certainly sounds interesting, I'm not bothered about the stat name changes but not convinced they need renaming either, I'm more concerned around my existing armor and whether that becomes immediately redundant as new legendaries will potentially have better spikes and intrinsic benefits, so it may be like starting from scratch. But for sure, I would prefer grinding for spiky armor than a meaningless power level.

1 ReplyThe real question no one is asking.... What about my artiface armor fam worked hard for those

2 RepliesI would move health regen under Recovery, and swap mobility to discipline. Otherwise, looks good.
