So, you removed the bounties from the old NPCs and stuffed them together in a random manner, rewarding less bright dust, and I have to complete pvp/pve stuff to get my reward, instead of letting me choose how to play, when, and what to play?
What was the problem with the old system? How a studio so big can make so many mistakes on so many levels is truly astonishing.
I love these "great" ideas, that remove player agency and force me to play the game in ways I don't want or care.
Congratulations on another terrible idea. I hope it costs you some more money.
EDIT: Just to make things worse the nodes are not counting correctly and I'm stuck for almost an hour so far on one that requires me to bank 100 motes and the game can't track it correctly. I already banked over 150 and still have 43/100. That is another reason why Pathfinder is a complete downgrade over the old bounty system.

1 ReplyIt's actually a good idea on Bungie's part. Make people play Gambit/Crucible to artificially inflate player count in said playlist while appeasing the dedicated players in said playlist who don't want to play players of their own skill level...... Sorry. the new pathfinder system is just annoying me.
-
Then don't do Pathfinder, and just grind reputation resets from whatever activity vendor you desire! Wow! Easy!
-
Doesn’t matter, we beat the witness. He almost witnessed right in our open mouths there

Edited by RabbitTears: 6/9/2024 5:33:24 PMI been enjoying pathfinder Sorry you have to play more of the game No one said you had to do pathfinder either
-
Pathfinder is a better system than bounty farming.
-
6 RepliesSo you rather go to the tower every single time to gather your chore list? The pathfinder system is is great improvement!

Congratulations on another terrible idea.
The list of terrible ideas has piled up over the years because they can't get out of the flawed logic of constantly changing how things work in the game. I'm dumbfounded after a decade that they refuse to face the reality that they are the problem, and they keep creating more problems because they can't get out of their own way.

1 ReplyI mean it would have been nice if there was direct paths to reach the end engram without having to play other modes. All this does is inflate numbers and for the ones who take pvp serious and get stuck with people just trying to finish a ritual probably gonna be angry. I mean I got my 25 kills in Gambit then left before the mission was over.
-
7 RepliesI'm starting to think players don't actually understand how Pathfinder works. The new system removes the need to keep buy bounties. It's piss easy to clear easy routes through Pathfinder and reset for engrams, bright dust, prisms, and XP. You do not have to do the entire thing. Doing tasks on other pathway nodes is optional for XP and literally no different than the random objectives you get from buying additional bounties.

As usual it falls back to EGO. THese are the most arrogant people you will ever encounter in life. They cannot allow us to enjoy the game but instead make a game they want yet still none of them even play it. Most of these idiots probably couldnt even log into the game let alone do end content. Thank GOD it is now finally over with.

3 RepliesI don’t dislike Pathfinder that much. What I really dislike, borderline hate, is that we can’t grab unlimited bounties that reward 10 bright dust anymore. And that they removed Rahools currency vendor page entirely? Like why the -blam!-, what the -blam!- are these clowns doing.
-
Yeah, this basically ruins the whole point of making bounties more general, we've basically gone back to the extremely niche and specific challenges we used to have to complete bounties, except this is worse.
-
1 ReplyLoss of player agency is exactly what they did and they knew it the whole time they were blowing smoke about it giving us more agency. Bungie will lie and spin anything to make it sound good. Glad I saw through all this BS and did not invest in TFS.
-
1 ReplyFor me bounties were always something that was in the background while you completed activities and I liked that. This system seems to take that away. Oh well
-
7 RepliesWhat U r saying is no different to bounties from vendors? Tbh I wanted the change cause mostly every week I never picked up most bounties cause wouldn't be forced to use something I don't. Yet Ur whining about something like this. Rather this than awful bounty systen

2 RepliesEdited by Shadow: 6/7/2024 11:11:52 PMI don’t mind the pathfinder I just hate gambit. All 3 before the last node one that I completed are gambit nodes. I thought they were going to separate the 3 activities. Guess I might have to go in gambit 🤢🤢 Pray for me guys

7 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 6/7/2024 6:44:02 PMIt’s a cool idea but I honestly think it was implemented pretty badly. It’s fine for destinations, but the ritual version is just plain bad. It needs to be more quickly accessible and players need to be able to ride their activity of choice from start to finish every time. If it can’t be that then it isn’t better than bounties.
-
4 RepliesI actually think Pathfinder is a really good idea! The problem is Bungie's implementation of it... They stupidly tied the Pathfinder for Vanguard, Gambit, and Crucible together which was the biggest mistake they could have ever made. What they should do ASAP is separate them back into their own 3 separate categories and give each different activity its own Pathfinder for players to progress playing that specific activity (vanguard, gambit, and crucible)
-
1 ReplyIt's only there to make players buy more silver. Pretty dirty tactic. They could have kept the bounties and implemented the pathfinder system with really good rewards for the huge time sink, but they didn't and made it as insufferable as possible.
-
5 Repliestbh, I'd rather switch modes than switch subclasses/weapon every 3 minutes. Maybe bounties/pathfinder would be better off like "primary/special/heavy weapon" instead of "assault rifle/hand cannon/etc." and "in ritual activities" as opposed to specific ones. Not to mention "debuff" instead of "blinded/scorched/etc."

I’d give this expansion about a 7/10 thus far. I don’t think the QoL updates as a whole have made the game any better unfortunately. Shader setup-dumb. Pathfinder-feels forced which path you must take because of avoiding Gambit or PVP if possible. Power Fantasy/Space Magic-character seams weaker but still early days. Campaign-lots of touchy holdy jumpy scanny and not enough straight up enemy slaying detracted from the gunplay. Exotic Sniper quest-bit better than campaign but adds were weaker than Legendary. That’s about all I’ve done in the 4 days so there’s much more to check out and experience before I have a final opinion. For now , still early days but this is a better paid expansion than Lightfall was.

I like it.
-
Man, I don't care. I get 150 BD for 5 bounties basically. As many times as I want. Why cry about it?

Incompetence

Not to mention we went from having 1 pinnacle per playlist to having 1 pinnacle overall making it even less rewarding
