Just throwing this out there, not sure if anyone has said similar but anyway:
How Bungie should nerf Well of Radiance in PvE
Remove the damage buff and make any damage buffs you proc null as soon as you step into the well. Or maybe just "mute" them until you step out. Maybe doesn't have to straight up get rid of them.
It should be survivability only imo if the needle is ever going to move.
I get that it's called "radiance" so not having the radiant damage buff doesn't make a lot of sense, but if you remove any of the survivability it will be useless.
Removing the damage buff is how you keep it viable without making it something that anyone who is warlock is essentially forced to use in a raid or boss scenario.
So you have something that newer/casual players can continue to get great use out of for safety, but the rest of the game, particularly raids will be a lot more varied and healthy without having to constantly have someone on well.
Bubble gives you a damage buff, but you can't stay inside it for survivability whilst doing damage. It's balanced, imo pretty well. Though the bubble itself needs a bit more hp in PvE. Shouldn't break so easily. But yeah, much more balanced in the sense mentioned. Having something like well that does 2 things at the same time that Bubble can only do 1 at a time is why Well is so omnipresent

Edited by THE GRIND IS REAL: 5/10/2024 3:35:31 AMGame needs buffs not nerfs not everyone plays this game for a living ,bullet sponge bosses need nerfing not guardians Nerfs got us to where we are now with a lower player count same for the difficulty increase that slowly killed off more of the playerbase

6 RepliesWell doesn't need a nerf. They need to stop designing encounters where we sit still while we are being by bombarded by everything in the room & the boss. Maybe ask for encounter design changes instead of nerfs.

It’s Saltagreppos alt account
-
22 RepliesNo. Everything else needs buffed to be in line with WOR.
-
2 RepliesThey could nerf the duration of the super as an alternative and also nerf the health of the sword so bosses can smash it more easily Problem really is the boss encounters; rhulk coming right into the well to kick the hell out of you (honestly being aggroed on the well) was and is the best raid experience bungo ever made Think how much more challenging master vog would have been if atheon was aggro on wells and bubbles/more mobile

5 RepliesEdited by Chunk: 5/12/2024 1:52:45 PM#1 a well nerf , Banner nerf and Lucky pants nerf most likely coming final week or 2 usually after they tell us about the buffs.. Bad news always follows good news . #2 why is this hard? Well only gives heals... Proc your own damage buff in the well, lumina, radiant blah blah. This naturally buffs bubble Titan.... Pop well pop bubble next to or behind well get in bubble get damage buff, get in well with damage buff and get heals and damage buff at same time apply deduff, same as before, not rocket science

4 RepliesStill think Bubble should give the higher damage buff.

As much as I dont like being forced to use well most of the time when doing most endgame content its better than daybreak which is probably one of the worst roaming supers in the game for pve. You quite literally need an exotic thats specifically for daybreak just to make it somewhat usable. If anything bubble should be reworked a bit because even when it was added in D2 way before Well was it still wasnt that great and people only used it because it was the only damage buff in the game that wasnt a crappy empowering rift

1 ReplyI’ve said this many times. WoR should be healing only and maybe increase ability regen for those inside of it. It renders bubble completely obsolete and encourages a brain dead playstyle that makes the game WAY less fun at least for me. At least sentinel is fun to play even with bubble on. Solar warlock is the most cookie cutter boring subclass in the game outside of like one build IMO, though I know plenty will disagree and that’s totally fine. Everyone’s got their preferences

3 RepliesWhy not just buff bubble?
-
3 RepliesHow about BUFF everything instead of always nerfing. Everything has been nerfed at this point. Stop with the nerfs!

2 RepliesNotice how this post has zero upvotes

Great idea We’ll never see well again if that were ever implemented

4 RepliesThey could remove it and bring back self Rez and not a warlock tear would be shed 😆

1 ReplyHow to nerf well…
Dont
-
1 Reply
make any damage buffs you proc null as soon as you step into the well
That part specifically is incredibly stupid.

13 RepliesEdited by GMDeece7: 5/11/2024 1:31:00 AMFine. Redesign all bosses in the game as well. Well was taken into consideration for EVERY boss, every section, every encounter, every fight… If well gets nerfed, every encounter, minor, major, and boss should be nerfed and changed to compensate for lack of wells. I can survive without well, but think of lfg… How many players will complete content without well being viable? If things are too difficult, players will simply leave. This is what you should be REALLY worried about if the average and below playerbase becomes nonexistent. They have to HEAVILY jack up the prices of EVERYTHING in game again to compete on the market. They have a smaller market of players to pull from. Do you want that? Destiny double or triple the price then it is now?

3 Repliesi think they should completly rework the well, the only nerf they should do is remove the healing
-
2 RepliesHow about we just leave well alone. Why go after the support class lol

5 RepliesA guardian that wants well nerfed must be a PVP player.
-
9 RepliesIt should not cancel out the other damage buffs you have

4 RepliesWell should give no buff to damage, yes, but you should not make buffs you already have null upon standing inside a well. People would actively avoid standing inside a well because despite its survivability, it would be harmful to actively nerf yourself as a result. At that point, Titans would have to use Phoenix Cradle, forcing Titans to use both a subclass AND an exotic for survivability and to retain a Damage Buff. This is made worse with the fact that as a counter to the amount of damage we can do, Bungie has introduced a large add count during a damage phase to both distract and harm to team. Phoenix Cradle would benefit off of these adds, because you can use sunspots to create more sunspots by killing the enemies. You make Well useless, and everyone is forced to use something else.

I'm fine with Bungie nerfing the health reg and the damage buff on warlocks. However they do need to give bubble and tether a little love. Or let them stack in end game content. I don't see bubble or tether as often as I use too.

It really depends on what Nerf you're referring to. If it's one of the footballs, you bring your throwing arm back until it's roughly in line with your ear, then release the ball just as your arm is fully extended. Nerfing well with the guns is a little harder to describe; there's factors you have to take into consideration such as wind speed, distance to your target, and what variety of gun you're using. When I was growing up, they weren't all that impressive; it was basically a tube with a plunger at one end that you shoved into the tube, launching a little ball out the opposite. The Nerf guns these days are high-tech by comparison, some are even called 'Nerf Systems.'
