Pvp in d2 is SO bad. So freaking awful.
Everything from stupid tier supers being overly used in trials (bubbles and well)
Stupid poor latency, even worse lobby balancing across the board.
And now we know youre making a fully fledged pvp game (marathon) where you all that in, which thr entire d2 pvp community has been screaming for in years. Which means d2 pvp has been one big beta marathon test, cause I can guarantee 💯 ppl that we are gonna se the same mechanics in marathon ad in d2 (the new range system, same type of aim assist system as d2 ect ect) but no one asked for a d2 patrol size 4v4 extraction loot shooter... ppl asked for a better d2 pvp

The pvp is good it’s just the match making. This morning for 5 game’s straight I got 0.5 kd teammates vs two 0.8 kds players and one average joe in countdown. It’s forced loss if you win a lot. But games like that go 3-3 and whoever has to set the bomb wins 99% of the time They need to make the people who set have a longer spawn time and spawn them away from bomb. Setting is a automatic win defending sucks.

D2 is P2P connection, every player connects to the main server and one person hosts the game, this is Halo 3 era PVP and is what Destiny currently has. The primary game engine Destiny 2 has is the same from Destiny 1. These outdated things account for why Matchmaking doesn't matter for lag when say the host has crappy internet or half your lobby is across the globe. SBMM and its laggy, CBMM is still laggy, Honestly these changes back and forth haven't changed anything noticeably for me in Iron Banner. Gotta love that P2P PVP. Allegedly Marathon is said it will have dedicated servers like a modern PVP, at its core its an Extraction Shooter, not just any regular 'PVP' game. New game yet to be tested, I wouldn't judge tell its playable. I wouldn't call D2 a beta to the new IP, D2 is a continuation of outdated gaming tech that should have been put to an end awhile ago, D2 is phasing out and I don't expect it to have many players left post Final Shape.

Not sure which one people would rather play. The pvp that "no one asked for" or the pvp where they try to do everyone's idea of a better pvp all at the same time. The good thing is we'll be able to play both.

I agree with you on the matchmaking but some people have builds and run those supers to get an advantage. Bubble and well are pretty easy to counter, you can one shot a warlock in a well with a sniper, and you can knock bubble titans out of a bubble.
