1 ReplyI couldn't ever confidently say someone was cheating but there's definitely questionable things going on alot more lately (all PvP, not just control!)
-
1 ReplyThere are obvious cheats like infinite heavy and aimbot which are almost immediately identifiable, but in every other case it's likely just due to extremely poor matchmaking choices which results in the lag compensation system to appear inconsistent.
-
1 ReplyOn pc yes, esp IB its filled with lag switcher and cheaters.. ever see unlimited heavy spammers? yup way to go bungo anti cheat. Report does jack sht.
-
12 RepliesNope, it's nearly impossible to meet a cheater in something like a control (if we talk about actual cheating, not something like 3rd party devices). In comp and trials it's definitely pretty bad, not as bad, as it used to be before season 15, but still not good
-
1 ReplyIT'S NOT CHEATING, IT'S IMPLEMENTED AI, WHICH PREDICTS/ DETERMINES WHO WILL WIN THE GUNFIGHT. SOME KIND OF LAG COMPENSATION.
-
5 RepliesI know lag levels have never been higher.
-
I think console cheating has decreased in the past few months but the amount of players cheating is still very high. I have no clue about cheating on pc though because I don’t play on pc and I refuse to play with pc (I also stay away from games that include pc within crossplay).
-
4 RepliesWhat is the point of cheating in Control? There is nothing at stake. I understand why players cheat in Trials, but Control? Makes no sense. I guess a sense of (unearned and unjustified) superiority is a reward unto itself?

11 RepliesFools hip firing sniper rifles while jumping, sliding, dodging, etc. If I peek even a single pixel for a microsecond, blam, instadead. Yeah, that's not suspicious.
-
2 RepliesI would be curious how the responses differ based on console vs PC. My suspicion is that there'd be a large gap. I have only ever played D1 and D2 on Xbox. While I have probably encountered cheaters somewhere along the way, I have never noticed anything that struck me as obvious cheating. I do not even think about cheating. I think some people are a lot better than me and also a lot more willing to squeeze the maximum advantage out of things like sliding and quick-scoping. I'm not the worst in PvP, better than some, but encounter opponents nearly every game who are clearly on a different level. You can tell just by how they move compared with how I move.

1 ReplyGladd has it right. This not a PvP game. The PvP mode is an accessory at best. It can (not now because of a cheaters' epidemic) help me get through the long stretches when I've done all the PvE content and have nothing else to do until the new season. What I've learned about PvP when I dive into it is that it's just a time killer. Sometimes I win. Sometimes I lose. Sometimes I pop off. Sometimes I get curb stomped. I figure that if I'm fluctuating between 1.8 and 2.0 with all of that, I must be doing something right. And I've had something to do and killed some time and maybe, just maybe, landed a decent roll on a decent weapon. PvP is a secondary activity for me in D2.

5 RepliesIt's not as bad as people make it out to be. Most of the time it's just people getting salty after losing to better players. The best example is GJake who cries the most when up against better players.

Edited by Unbrandedpie: 7/12/2023 10:47:43 AMThese posts never work. The vast majority of these forums are players who are just bad at pvp and look to blame anything but themselves 🤷♂️

4 RepliesEdited by Brawl: 7/11/2023 1:01:30 AMusb device is rising they made new usb product which got out of stock after 1 hour the popularity of this devices ruinng the crucible and bungie literally did nothing to slove this issue since the last annoucment

1 ReplyCheaters and hackers are part of every game. The fact that they are on the rise, is that they know they can get away with it. But from my experience with pvp mode is it's nothing but trash for this game
-
6 Repliesinfinite ammo, especially heavy, SHOULD be easy to catch by any anti-cheat worth it's weight in code. Computer code has no physical weight. TL;DR: Anti-cheat (in it's current state) is worthless.

-
2 RepliesIt's awesome, adds more content and fun to the game when you get 1000voices through every wall in the map than bungie has added in the last 4 years

1 2 3 green monkey potato!

Bungie recently implemented bans for using external aim and flinch assist hardware on consoles but given how lax they've been regarding an overcharged epidemic of cheating in Trials and competitive, I doubt there have been that many bans. Bungie's focus is elsewhere and so are their PvP developers. It's why I'm not playing PvP much now. Maybe that player who just did something really good to kill me is just really good. Maybe it's cheating. It's hard to know but that uncertainty is killing the vibe for me. PvP is mostly dead to me now. I hover just below 2.0 k/d without any help from cheats. I'm nothing special but when my play style works, it works well for me. But I'm no where near good enough to beat a cheater so, I've lost interest in PvP.

Feel like SBMM puts cheaters in lobbies with players a lot better than me, tbh. Most of the time I think someone is cheating, it's just server lag not registering something until way after it happens.

This is what I see / saw in Trials and Comp… ‘Invincibles’ who ohk with 1x round from across the known universe using weapons that simply can’t…or slot me from places unseen before they have even materialised. Creatures with heavy ammo when none is even available, eg, in early rounds. Unbelievable movements not actually available ‘in (this) game’. My weapons fire party streamers and popcorn, and my armour is tissue-wrap, whilst the ‘Invincible(s)’’ gear/weapons are solid/ohk level. Bounced out of the game for reasons unknown. My ps5 has a meltdown. Restart / Repair required. Etc…etc… Caveat: hardcore ninjas who are simply better players are not included in the a/m. Cheers! 🫡

4 RepliesSaw a dude shooting a bow into the ground and somehow that translated into one hit kill head shots.

1 ReplyEdited by EventHorizon_16: 7/11/2023 4:48:22 PMIf anyone is cheating during Control, then they must really be bad. No reason to cheat in this game mode. I play a TON of Control and haven't seen much cheating at all. Just my experience though.
-
Yes. I'm not sure about on the rise, but it's still part of the game, as it always has been. I've played since year one, have many thousands of matches, and seen it all......both from hacks and Bungie itself with numerous proven/admitted field leveling ghost mechanics including damage referee, ghost bullets, come back mechanic, etc., etc., the list goes on. Use the in game report feature and most particularly the play station report for cheats. They work. Make sure it's legit, not simply you bring outplayed. Record games if you notice the same cheats in your pool.

3 RepliesI sometimes wonder if the console users opt to use a mouse and keyboard instead of a controller for this game specifically. If so imo they would have an impressive advantage over console users still sporting the controller.
