I have been having the Centipede error code for a couple of days now. I have reinstalled Win 11, reset my router to factory defaults, port forward 3074/3079 etc... Come to find out that with down detector it shows that it's a local server on Bungie's side, and using a VPN solved the issue. I hope that @bungiehelp has a ticketing system showing failed connection attempts to this local server because I see nothing on twitter about it.
