I abandoned the quest a few days ago because I was cleaning out my quest log from all the old stuff and I can no longer reclaim the quest from exo stranger. It's not in my quest log either and when I went to Kell's Rising there was a dark pyramid fragment thingo with a quest marker which i followed by shooting them with stasis but it didn't accomplish anything. When I right click the quest it says "this quest step has not yet been revealed" so I definitely haven't somehow progressed it either.
