As the title says I am taking a much needed, perhaps permanent, break from my favorite game due to the recent increase in difficulty. This is entirely a personal skill issue. I have always been able to complete hard endgame content (Conqueror title, Master lost sectors, etc.) with little trouble. After spending 5+ hours today attempting to solo flawless a legend lost sector and continually failing, my frustration is simply overtaking whatever joy the game was giving. Bungie has raised the bar on this basic, formerly completable, activity too high for me. Enough. Thank you Bungie for the fabulous game. Good luck all.

Sounds like a skill issue

Just remember to delete your characters as well. Apparently it doesn’t count unless you do that.
It pains me to type this but to prevent any possible confusion I am not saying the OP needs to delete their characters. It’s a sarcastic comment because some people keep demanding this gets done.
-
Please don't come back

6 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 3/20/2023 3:44:59 PMSome of the comments I see on this forum about the changes are as dumb as players saying they have no problem with this game's "RNG" which is a lie. I've never understood nor want to understand the childish attitude. "I have no problem so this means it applies to everyone". News flash! No, it doesn't, and the fake news about how "easy everything things is" is another lie. Too many fake people on this forum that think dragging out the weak at best content and making things a sponge "is a challenge, and fun". Your opinion about being better than others has not and will not work on this forum. Not a damn one of you has ever been able to shut a post like this down and you never will because this business actions have been and always will be in plain sight. Yet, somehow some of you think your childish comments will change that. I get games being a challenge, ((((using mechanics)))) but this is pure lazy development for a business that has been working on this project since 2007 that hasn't wanted to put some actual effort into the game. Playing Warframe and some of the challenges that are designed to be a challenge by using mechanics shows how lazy this "developer" actually is.

For the most part I'm enjoying the difficulty increase but I can see how it would bug other players.
-
People do understand this game is still easy right even with the so called difficult increase

Edited by Týr-Skadi: 3/21/2023 9:27:19 PMThis stinks. I just killed all champs and adds in the most easiest LLS ever, proud that i was that i did that and finally could damage the boss: then i got one shot (arround the corner!) killed by this boss without any revives left. Again: this stinks! I dont mind the Neonuma difficulty. But c'mon. Legendaries should not feel like masters.

Edited by Wintermute 2050: 3/23/2023 4:21:37 AMI might be joining you in the departure. Lost sectors were one of my favorite activities in the game, and they have been ruined. I did not even care much about the rewards from them in past seasons. I liked their level of challenge. I completed many lost sectors solo flawlessly on Master level. Neomuna is another factor influencing my decision. A patrol area should never have the level of difficulty as this one. It is supposed to be an area where you can relax and shoot, not worry about being chased by Wyern or overwhelmed by Cabal. If Bungie does not address our concerns very soon and reduce the difficulty in Neomuna and lost sectors, then I may leave the game. There is a good chance I will never return. I stopped playing PvP in November 2021. Now I am close to leaving the other half of the game.
-
2 RepliesThe game would be very easy with the right builds, but I understand that most casual players don't wanna dedicate hours to fine-tuning the perfect load out. Legend difficulties and Neomuna patrols could stand to be toned down while keeping everything else the same.
-
3 RepliesFrankly I agree, I am managing, but the fact Neomuna is pretty quiet speaks volumes, takes me a good 10-15 minutes of quick travel to find a terminal overload, place just feels ... empty. I wonder why? I took a long break, frankly I haven't played since Stasis came out really, so when I came back I had a pretty big shock, at first I thought I was just really rusty and forgot which end of my gun goes bang until I heard it was apparently due to sweaty tryhard no-lifers demanding it got harder (no idea if that's true or not) how's that working out for you bungie? As for all the "Osteo+Grips" proclaimers, Just one hiccup with that, in order to do the grips/Osteo, you first need to farm legendary flawless to get the grips, no? somewhat vicious circle is it not? Want to do legend LS, but need the grips, but need to do the Legend LS etc etc.

I feel the same way about the difficulty changes. Destiny is much less fun, especially playing some of the three player higher level content. I didn’t do the campaign on legendary, but definitely wanted to get the new Warlock Strand exotic boots. After trying many times and getting way more frustrated than I wanted, I was finally able to solo a legend lost sector after someone suggested using Wish Ender bow, and setting your frame rate to 30fps. For some reason with the changes Bungie made to the difficulty, some kinds of enemy fire cause way more damage with higher frame rates, and Wish Ender certainly puts in the work. Also, increasing you power level will help, too. Hope this helps. It sucks that you have reduced load-out choices for higher level content, and not everyone has all the right tools to help them overcome the artificial difficulty Bungie has added to the game recently. The game is definitely much less fun than it used to be.

15 RepliesEdited by Zeyd: 3/20/2023 4:49:58 PMI can understand people are frustrated with the legend lost sectors being too tough... But in reality, perhaps they were simply too easy before? Legend and above content should REQUIRE decent builds to see success, not any mishmash of gear. I've cleared them at -40, and -15. Now this might contradict what I said above, but lemme tell you this: you don't need an exotic of any kind to clear. All you need is ANY void machine gun, and bricks from beyond/volatile flow on your artifact. That's it. That's enough to carry you through to victory, that's how strong this combo is right now. Use the rest of your weapons and class options to deal with champs and shields.

Didn't payed for DLC, barely play in game, to be more precise I'm lost any reason to play because game not rewarding, artificial illogical difficulty, dumb story, and NB character forced in game without any reason.
-
2 RepliesI’ve found that with the difficulty changes, it’s more fun with friends. This may just be me, though. Three of my friends got into the game a couple of weeks ago, and we’ve been playing every other day. We’ve done the prophecy dungeon, (their first dungeon) and one of my friends loves it so much he’s just bought the legacy expansion pack and lightfall. I think the difficulty changes are frustrating for some activities, but for others I’m not seeing a massive difference.

11 RepliesEdited by Rain: 3/20/2023 9:20:57 PMWhy do we need to clear a lost sector flawless? I forget, is it to unlock something particular? Edit: Nvm, I saw its for guardian rank 7. The only reason I want rank 7 is because it unlocks loadouts. What a dumb decision locking loadouts. It's like locking half the weapon slots.

Tried to do Bunker E-15 today, which is my favorite that I've done many times on Master, couldn't come close on Legendary.

Sorry to hear this , best of luck.

Edited by El Peyotero: 3/21/2023 4:04:40 PMHe's not wrong. It's just the Lost Sectors.

I dont even consider myself that good at this game and most content is beatable at this point, i really dont understand how yous are all having such problems like flawless lost sectors challenge, yes its difficult, but if it was easy then what would be the point?
-
Hypocrisy 🤣
-
1 ReplyOP: makes a post about quitting two days ago. Also OP: played Crucible a few hours ago. And people wonder why we always give others claiming to quit the game crap.
-
Yeah I'm currently debating whether I should bother finishing the season pass first or just uninstall now. That's only significant for me because even when I stopped playing for almost 2 years the game never left my SSD. Unnecessary difficulty and overly time consuming BS in almost every location outside of worthless old patrol zones just makes the game too stressful and not even worth the hassle of trying to grind out power levels.
-
2 Replies
I have always been able to complete hard endgame content (Conqueror title, Master lost sectors, etc.) with little trouble.
Cap, the difficulty isnt even that bad Argue about power level, since youre only 1810 complaining about not being able to flawless a lost sector

OP was playing 9 hours ago.

I hate to say it, but Destiny feels like it's heading toward the "take a break and come back later" box. I do like the seasonal content so far if it's a bit grindy. I like the weapons and gear offered. I love the looks of the season aesthetics wise. That said I am playing Elden Ring on NG+3 at lvl 240 and that feels better to do in the fun department even with it being a static game rather than a live one.
