I’ve passed 80 lootable clears in VOG and have yet to see a single exotic weapon drop. It’s a waste of my time and effort to continue farming for something that seems like an impossibility knowing that there are other raids I have to complete and farm in a mind numbing fashion without any clear progress towards getting what I’m working for. If this is the present of destiny, then I believe the future will be as dull.
I’m calling it quits on farming this weapon and I’m possibly just going to quit playing destiny as a whole if this is what I have to expect from future content.
Raid exotic drop rates are an insult to my time and patience and I feel justified in not believing in the direction bungie and destiny are going to force players to spend absurd amounts of time on what in reality can be called nothing.
I have cancelled my lightfall preorder because it only seems that this company can only make mistakes going forward, with no clear vision other than to waste my time.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 2/7/2023 4:28:43 PMOne of the best exotics in the game: literally handed to you for simply logging in at the beginning of Season of Arrivals Some raid exotic that’s mid at best: you must complete this boss 100+ times during its week in the rotation and maybe you can have it Bungie: Yes, this makes perfect sense and is a completely reasonable reward system. Tryhards despite this when people ask for raid exotics to be more accessible: yOU jUSt wAnT tHInGs hANdEd tO yOU

6 RepliesRaid exotics should be tied to seal completion.

Got it on 251 didn’t have anything else to do…so just did atheon only with a group and it dropped on 215……note that there was another with over 300 and hasn’t seen it yet.

I finally got 1k voices today. Not only one but gave me 2. No joke

I’m upwards of 60 of KF and no ToM. I’m part of the King Slayers with no ToM club. I just gave up. That gun ain’t that cool to me. Lol

2 RepliesDid you purchase the upgraded raid card from eververse ?
-
21 RepliesLol, kid didn't get their choccy bar and now throws a tantrum in the supermarket.
-
1 ReplyFeel you i got mine on my 28th clear. But I got a second vex after my 7 more runs.
-
Most mmo games have the best gear at low drop rates. However destiny gear isn't something to write home about. So Bungie should increase the drop rate.
-
So no vex?
-
Just pick it up off the ground when it drops. It's not that hard??

1 ReplyAtheon farm is the way to go. Haven't even done a full vog clear farmed atheon for 30 min and got it on thw 11th clear. this week was the best week to farm

3 RepliesAs miserable as doing the Divinity puzzle was… I think it was the right way to do a raid Exotic. You knew if you were getting it or not and it was a stressful time… once. This is coming from someone who has had stupidly good luck from the other raids. Getting Vex in 2 Clears, Collective Obligation in 9 and Touch of Malice in 5.

1 ReplyEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 2/7/2023 4:17:06 AMTryhards: yOU jUSt wAnT tHInGs hANdEd tO yOu Me: *laughs in being handed Witherhoard, one of the best exotics in the game, for doing absolutely nothing but logging in at the beginning of Season of Arrivals Face it. There is literally no good reason for raid exotics to be this way. There is no good reason to be this stingy with them. It’s not a measure of ability or skill. Rarity is a poor measure of value as per my example above. Functionality is a good measure of value. Usefulness is. This reward mechanic is indefensible. It’s a ploy to garner excessive play time and if you defend it, you have fallen for it.

They also need to make it only drop once for you. My friend got pissed could he not get it for @$#% but yet i got 3 by my 32nd clear. RNG is wildly weird in this game.
-
1 ReplyI agree. They could easily just raise the drop rate per completion. Even if just 1 percent per run. You know it will eventually drop.

1 ReplyThis is not me trolling, but just stating from a logical standpoint - since drop rates are RNG, it can't be BS per say since it's random - meaning the only control Bungie has is either to make the rate higher, or lower, and not when it drops. I know people who have gotten raid exotics on their first and second clears, while I know people who have run LW over a hundred times and still don't have 1kv. If the rumored 6% is correct, I think it's fair, just sucks for those who don't get it within a reasonable time frame vs those who get it right away.

1 ReplyI think they need to be more open with raid and dungeon exotic drop rates and bud luck protection as well as farming. I mean there is still a lot of debate since beyond light as to how it b works and if the others have it.

4 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 2/7/2023 1:42:42 AMAlways have been, always will be. Sadly. Unfortunately. It’s a real shame they have to resort to this trollish reward mechanic instead of just trusting the contents of their efforts to cause people to keep playing the game. Really wish they would abandon this shameful tactic.

1 ReplyRun the whole raid once a week for the next 3 months then farm it. From my limited understanding of bad luck protection, that should help. Good luck!
-
The biggest problem is -blam!- think a clear and a lootable clear or the same thing. If people actually understood this they'd have their weapons in around 30 clears
-
1 ReplyFor anyone referencing this post in the future, farming vex on the weekly rotation seems to have a less than 1% drop rate and IS NOT WORTH farming for unless bungie increases the drop rate. Do not bother farming this raid unless you want to meet disappointment, it is not worth going through LFG and clan mates in such a short period of time as the odds are against you. I am nearing 100 lootable clears as of making this point and have given up. Bungie has made this weapon unobtainable for most of the playerbase, and to farm it is an abuse to your mental health, time, and community.
-
1 ReplyI personally enjoy a carrot on a stick but no vex blows for that long. I’ve said it many times and I’m sure other have as well but just tie a guaranteed raid exotic to the seal or a flawless run. Honestly I wouldn’t mind tying raid exotics to a seal exclusively, might make those seals feel more worthwhile
-
12 RepliesBungie: we care about mental health Also Bungie: continues to implement an incredibly and unreasonably low RNG reward and doesn’t care if you farm the boss encounter while it’s in rotation literally hundreds of times and still don’t see the weapon drop
