Crossplay was a mistake.

Console crossplay lobbies are about 50/50 PSN/XB users and they are worse than ever right now. Matches are ruined by random users taking no damage even though the damage is being registered by the game engine. Post match damage numbers in comp not aligning with in-game damage numbers.
An enemy can run through my witherhoard and grenade while I'm shooting them with Battler for them to kill me with a single melee hit and retain full health the entire time. Post round damage numbers over 800 yet no kill or damage inflicted in-game.
Something needs to be done about crossplay. We cannot turn it off, if you turn it off you cannot find a match, sit in matchmaking for 10 minutes and it self cancels.

10 RepliesCrossplay was not the mistake. It's Bungie's handling of Crucible matchmaking and creativity. They need a new vision for the mode because Crucible can't and will never be "competitive" of any type in any way that they are trying to make it to be. They need to add connection preferred matchmaking back into the game, alongside making changes to the playlists to make the game more fun. Why can't we get a guns only/no ability mode that we've been asking for for years? Add a party playlist for Clash, Control, and Mayhem. Make different version of trials like one where your loadouts are restricted to specific class types like what Prestige year 1 raids had? This would free up stale PvP metas. Add the alien races as playable characters and make a PvP playlist for playing the Guardians Vs. The Guardian version of an alien race. Add new maps. There is so much that can be done to spice up the flavor of crucible but Bungie doesn't have the creative vision to lead that charge.

I really wish they would look into damage not computing in match. In trials 5 psn 1 Xbox. I had a round on screen I didn't take a players shield off before I died. I thought I hit my 3 shots but whatever I been known to miss. After action report. 194 damage.... What? Where was this in the game?

For pve it's fine for pvp it's a nightmare to deal with

Bungie seems to have very lazy coding habits, this is apparently the reason for sun setting. It’s a net code and P2P connection issue, I do not see it ever being fixed.

1 ReplyIts not cross play thats the problem. Its hybrid servers on P2P connection in 2022, thats the problem. Bungie is a AAA dev company, they made halo...but somehow coukdnt afford dedicated servers and a better connection type than peer to peer? Nah, bungie is just greedy and lazy. Good on activision for dropping them when they had the chance, wouldnt surprise me if bungie was involved in a lot of the scandals surrounding activision as of late.

Yeh cross play in crucible is shocking. Not a good experience. Slightly better since this new matching hybrid system has been implemented.

For PvP maybe, We have been playing with xbox and PS users in PvE and its been great.

I want them to outright remove that accessibility! Let that be a lesson to anyone who wants to play with everyone regardless of platform!

PlayStation players treat the crucible like it’s the world championship or something. Every single one I’ve seen is just cracked at the game.

I don't want to be in games with PS players, no offence, but unless there is a specific PS player I know, and want to play with, why? It's cool if you have Xbox, and your friend has PS that you could join each other's game, but outside that, I'd like to play with other Xbox players only, unless I set up a specific cross play game.
