Every time you regret something you’ve done that week, you lose 2 ticks Every time you regret something you’ve done that month, you lose 5 ticks. Every time you regret something you’ve done that year, you lose 10 ticks. Every time you regret something you’ve done in your life, you lose 40 ticks. If you reach zero ticks, you die. For every regret one week which is not repeated the following week, you gain back half the number of ticks you lost on top of the default 100. Notes: - your ticks are not reset every week, they accumulate. - you have to have deliberately decided to do something which you now regret in order for the ticks to be lost. Regretting accidentally knocking over an expensive vase doesn’t lose ticks, but regretting the decision to fly a drone in the house which resulted in the vase being broken does. - the timings are exclusive of one another. If you regret something you did yesterday you only receive the penalty for the week, not for the month or year or lifetime. - if you regret the same thing multiple times in a week, you only lose the initial amount of ticks, not multiple. However, if you regret the same thing [b]next week[/b] then you will incur the month penalty, etc. - you do not lose ticks for regretting the loss of ticks

2 RepliesThe counter would start at 100 and go up for every joke that lands and for every joke that doesn’t land it goes down by one. If the counter hits zero you die of embarrassment/cringe

7 RepliesWell, HoTh just said something similar to what I was about to, but I’m putting it forth anyway. So here’s idea #5, now including faeries by request. The counter will go up for every good deed you performed, and it will go down for every bad deed. A good deed is defined by having a positive impact on someone’s life by their perspective, and a bad deed is a negative impact. The “from their perspective” part is important, because, for example, a religious person might consider converting someone to their religion a good deed, but unless the other person is also onboard it doesn’t count. The good deeds must also be intentional. So, losin $100 [url=https://onestepfromeden.gamepedia.com/Money]Money[/url] that’s then found by someone else doesn’t count, but giving them the [url=https://onestepfromeden.gamepedia.com/Money]Money[/url] directly does. The better or worse the deed, the more it affects the counter. Once you get above a certain threshold, you receive a faerie friend. This faerie comes with a little doll house for them to live in, and is completely immortal. They will be the best friend you could ever ask for, tailored to each individual. They’ll have all the same interests as you, in addition to whatever interests you want them to have, and will always be happy to see you, but also give you space when you need it without question. Whatever you see in an ideal friend, this is them, with the one caveat that they are Tinkerbell sized. That might lock them out of some activities. They also have some magic, that they’ll use to help improve your life as a reward for all the lives you’ve improved! This system does have its flaws. Somebody could be a legitimately amazing person, but be surrounded by ungrateful jerks causing the counter not to rise, and people would no doubt get judged for their counts as well. It’s tempting to say only you can see your own count. Oh, and you don’t have to be doing good for the sake of being good. Even if you’re doing good deeds purely for the reward, it still counts.

1 ReplyIt could be how somebody is feeling on a scale of 1-10. 1 being not good at all, 10 being great. This would be a good way for people to get the help they need.

3 RepliesMy first thought was it starts at some arbitrary number, say, 100, and once it hits 0 you die. However, you could make it go down to receive some benefit. I originally thought wishes, the bigger the wish the more count you lose. However, even with restrictions I felt this would get out of hand. Then I thought magic, but I’d need to choose a magic system, and got lazy. So then I thought maybe it displays some sort of useful information. Maybe whenever you talk with someone, their counter is indicative of how much they like you. Higher numbers mean they like you more. Or perhaps you could ask it any question that can be represented by numbers, and get an answer. You can’t set any conditions on the numbers, though, no “odd for no, even for yes”, the answer has to be number based, like asking the chance of something. Ultimately I am not satisfied with any of my answers.

5 RepliesEach 224 ticks (lets say each tick will be a second long) will give me a random buff/debuff (sickness, super strength, etc.) These buffs/debuffs will increase in viability for every one I get. However, the ticks will end as soon as I get a debuff. The severity of the debuff will depend on how late it arrives (if its the first one it might be something inconsequential, maybe like nausea. It will then increase to something like a disease idk haven't thought this far.)

5 RepliesIt will tick up once for every major injury survived. If you are actively surviving it, it counts (so that people can't discern if a life-threatening injury will kill a person or not, because that's no fun) Major injury is a rather wide net to cast, I know, but I'll just say anything that would put you out of commission, even if only for a few minutes (from a heavy impact or a spider bite that might hurt your arm bad enough that you are reluctant to move it, and on the worse side something like losing a limb, or getting shot.).
