I don't think I would ever use this over Healing Rift especially with its current cooldown and animation lock after landing. It doesn't even provide Radiant. I'm thinking it should've been an aspect. Very disappointing.

14 RepliesThey should have combined both dash and dive into one thing for starters, double tap to dash, hold to dive.
-
1 ReplyPhoenix Dive shouldn't be replacing the class ability, you're absolutely right. It needs to replace Well of Radiance. Much better.
-
If it was double press for Icarus dash, and long press for dive on the Icarus dash aspect I think that would be pretty cool
-
1 ReplyIt gives instant max health to you and everyone in its radius as a one off. A great alternative to healing rift which is progressive health regen over time. Im not sure you even used it before you criticised it?
-
4 RepliesLike titans got a whole trump wall and overshield and quicker animation with void 3.0 but god for bid warlocks get a full heal when losing a whole rift. Not to mention well is still cheeks

7 RepliesEdited by Brickinthewall87: 5/24/2022 10:42:05 PMWait, it's a replacement for your rift now!? That's an absolutely MASSIVE nerf to Phoenix dive. Very dissapointing. Does it also have a rift-length cooldown? Edit: seeing posts that it DOES have a cooldown like a rift. Absolutely tragic.

1 ReplyEdited by Martiis: 5/26/2022 6:21:10 PMThe base cooldown needs to be reduced drastically. Or maybe something that reduces the cooldown but also the amount of healing so you can choose between the 2

3 RepliesTo me, phoenix dive is made to interact with heat rises for best results. Activating it at that time with the proper aspect/fragment combination gives it the secondary effect. It feels like it has the singular use for reviving a downed ally that is surrounded by ads because by itself it feels very underwhelming. But right now, I'm still tinkering.

I strongly agree, if pheonix dive left a lingering rift whose size was based off your height it'd be different, but a one time use like that is really not worth the cooldown.
-
2 RepliesHonestly, I feel there were a lot of missteps for solar 3.0 warlocks. The fact that 2/3 aspects are TTD is... Utterly baffling. Healing/Support Warlock is basically dead, and being in the air very much in difficult content is a great way to die. Dawnblade used to be among the best choices for high end PvE, and it... Doesn't feel like that anymore.

15 RepliesEdited by neonsox42: 5/24/2022 11:14:13 PMIt needs a faster cooldown. Give it 30 seconds and you’re good. Slower than Hunter dodge but gives more. Especially since anything strong is locked behind an ability you need to consume your grenade to use.

2 RepliesEdited by Olórin: 5/25/2022 3:15:43 PMIt could work if only they drastically shortened its cooldown. The reason why Rifts have a longer cooldown is due to them being active on the field for around 10+ seconds which is understandable but why give Pheonix the same cooldown time? A Pheonix Dive is instantaneously burnt the moment you use it and you have to wait the same amount of time as a Rift? Its in such a weird spot now. Pheonix Dive could be an amazing movement ability to accompany Icarus Dash if they shorten the cooldown. Edit: also, give me back my Benevolent Dawn, you want us to heal so much then give that back Bungie.

If its cool down was halved I wouldn't find it annoying otherwise I prefer it for my play style than rift tbh
-
5 RepliesHonestly, I just think it's not worth the cooldown, a whole minute and a half for one heal versus a continuous stream of healing from a rift
-
I think the main problem is just the cooldown, it is way too long
-
1 ReplyIt should not need heat rises to do the restoration effect. And the cooldown is too long. Otherwise it could work.
-
1 ReplyHonestly, I wished they just left warlock solar abilities alone. Definitely not an improvement.
-
2 RepliesI've not tried Warlock yet this season. Until I saw your post here, I had just assumed it was going to be an Aspect. Treating it as a rift seems an odd choice although maybe it opens up some interesting mobility options to have both dive and dodge available at once?
-
1 ReplyWarlock tears, sweet!
-
It would be fine if they 1. removed the possibility of you just losing your class ability charge if you die before even start using the dive animation, and 2. either reduced the cooldown or increased its potency.
-
1 ReplyYeah, came on here to say this. My fav Subclass was Bottom tree Dawnblade because it was very tanky - The extra manoeuvring and recovery of the dive was fantastic. Now it seems like it heals less and Replaces your rift, so why would I ever take this? Why is Dash not a class ability then? Why is Shatter Dive On Hunter not a class ability?? Absolute trash tier ability now when it used to be one of my favourites.

3 RepliesIt's all garbage. This season feels like it's dead on arrival at this time. Developing and releasing this mess as Solar 3.0 was a massive waste of time.
-
It should've been an combined with Dash. Double tap to dash or long press to dive. Dash keeps 4 sec cooldown and Dive is 10 since it has an AoE heal to it. Solved.
-
They took my bottom tree away when that was my favorite and gave me garbage.. I feel i'm entitled to some bright dust, silver, and pinnacle package. Feeling worried since I just paid for the dungeon keys.. I really really hope they don't give us half -blam!- -blam!-.
-
16 RepliesSo THATS what happened to it... No wonder i couldnt find it... They nerfed it into a class ability. Rift or phoenix dive? -blam!- trash. Bungie must be braindead... What a stupid change
