Nerf Ophidians, Don't Buff Them.
Stomp-EE5 has been a massively overused exotic for years, as shown in the sandbox TWAB, and it's finally getting its due nerf with the airborne accuracy penalty to hopefully tone it down and move people onto other exotics.
Loreley came out the gate burning hot after its rework to allow sunspots on command and took over crucible, also shown in the sandbox twab. Now it's getting [i] some kind of[/i] nerf next season.
Ophidian Aspect is just as dominant by usage for warlocks, and we all know from Stompees that such a blanket buff for no cost is very strong, so why are they getting a bonus to airborne effectiveness and STILL have no cost for the exotic's effects?
I don't see warlocks being the more "airborne" class being a viable excuse when there's exotics tailored to that playstyle, like Sacred Dawn or Starfire, and I don't think you can excuse buffing warlocks' most heavily used exotic without just admitting there's rampant bias here.
I get the nerfs for stompee5 and loreley, I think they're sorely needed. What I don't get is why warlocks' most dominant exotic isn't getting the same treatment.

4 RepliesLmao, ophidians are the only good pvp exotic for walocks. They have so many trash tier exotics like chromatic fire, promethium spur, winters guile, starfire protocol, sanguine alchemy, felwinters helm to name a few.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone complaining about a Warlock using Ophidians before. What time line is this?

How can you even compare a handling and melee range exotic to an exotic that literally makes you move faster than any other character in the game? Shouldn’t you be comparing stompees to transversive steps? Those 2 are identical. Also don’t go off by usage my guy, hunter mains make up 60% of this game. A warlock having a high usage on an exotic doesn’t mean its broken. Warlocks cant go around jumping with their weapons ready at all times the same way hunters do. Warlocks are stuck playing boots on the ground unless you decide to play top tree dawn blade. Ophidians is good because its a general buff to weapon handling and melee range, bungie removed the long melee warlocks used to have and ophidians make up for that change so theres also that. I don’t enjoy using shotguns so I have no use running transversive steps, I use ophidians for the reload speed and consistent melee lunges.

It really isn't a buff, more of "hey, this also does this for you". It seems like in-air effectiveness may be tied to handling, which is what Ophidian Aspect ALREADY helps with. Alternatively i could be completely wrong and be making myself look like a goober. Either way, have a laugh, lol.

10 RepliesOphidians are only highly used because they’re the only good option. The only things even remotely close to competing with it are tranversive steps and astrocyte verse, and that one’s only usable on blink. The vast majority of warlock exotics are only built for some kind of PvE playstyle and the ones that aren’t are just mediocre. Nobody in their right mind will ever use apotheosis veil or sanguine alchemy, but Bungie is never going to take the time to make them more viable.

Stompees didn't even get that hard of a nerf lol, that's the biggest joke. Every brainlet acts like Stompees will be killed, but they'll still be just as OP; you just won't be able to freely crutch pogo jumping + shotgun/HC anymore without heavy in-air accuracy investment. Ophidians needed a nerf, not a buff, and Stompees need a REAL nerf, not the fake BS nerf that we got. Warlocks are heavily downvoting this post because Bungie finally released raw data proving that their overused OP crutch is way overdue for a nerf right next to Stompees.
