I think all elemental weapon types should have a headstone style perk.

Void, Solar, and Arc should all be given a precision kill perk that is in the same ability lite style as stasis has with headstone. As it is now stasis weapons have something no other weapon type does at the moment outside of some exotics. This is an oversight that should be fixed, and the updates to light subclasses seems like a good time to add these types of perks. These can synergize with several abilities, aspects, and fragments for all subclasses Going forward with the other subclasses getting updates they can have aspects and fragments made to be able to interact with the weapon perks. Void should get a area effect pull in with some small damage, this will play into the gravity themes of void. Solar should get a self buff that gives healing over time and reload speed for 2-3 seconds, maybe add some extra fire damage to melee while the buff is active. Arc should get a chain lightning that deals small damage or gives a 2-4 second mobility buff and a shield recharge if it jumps to the guardian, to promote being in the thick of the battle. These are what I think would be good, but would love to see other peoples idea's about what could be cool perks interact with the light subclasses.

  • Love the general idea of more specialized rounds soe ific to element types, but may need to tone down the specific ideas you have so they don't become OP and get nerfed immediately. I also would be down for having 'volatile rounds' equivalents in other subclasses. I'm actually saving a few select weapon rolls for arc and solar in the hopes of that happening. Imagine if we had chain lightning rounds for arc weapons? The stats for all w/ one for all roll on the new arc auto could be interesting...

  • I’m all for op stuff, but I think what you are proposing would be game breaking. You want to make every void weapon into a Lorentz Driver. Every arc weapon into Trinity Ghoul with a speed buff. Every solar weapon into a self heal with rapid reload. Can’t you see how these things would break the game. I can already hear the pvp community complaining.

    • Thats a bad idea, some exotics worth comes from getting precision kills and making explosions for it. Outbreak, graviton, ace of spades etc. if every single elemental weapon could cause explosions it would make these exotics kind of pointless. Its bad enough we cant equip mods on exotics, giving a dragonfly perk to every legendary in the game would kind of suck. I get what you are saying but I’m good, dragonfly exist.

        Everyone saying “but we have dragonfly” is missing the point. Headstone creates a persistent debuff object that can also deal damage. The solar equivalent of this would be a sunspot. The arc equivalent would be a lightning storm, void would be a vortex. It’s just a way to get some interesting persistent effects in the game that reward precision. But yeah… y’all go on and keep using the worse version of firefly if that’s your thing.

            I get what you're saying, but we already have Dragonfly (and Chain Reaction). Stasis - Headstone Kinetic - Firefly Elemental - Dragonfly Maybe instead they should modify Dragonfly to be a little different across the elemental weapons. It's already pretty underpowered compared to Headstone and Firefly.

            • Bungie Response : Due to the over usage and popularity of Headstone and having no other weapon perks outside of Stasis weapons we can apply to Void, Arc, Solar.. we have decided to vault Headstone for further investigation.

              Yeah something like this could be great, but instead of new abilities they could have it debuff enemies with the elemental debuffs that their making. Like void could suppress or weaken nearby enemies, solar/arc could have their elemental debuff be applied too Edit: Would be cool to see the hereafter blind effect come back

                Meh. Easy option is: Volatile explosion, blinding explosion/chain lightning, incendiary explosion. I like the idea you had for solar being a healing thing. “Precision kills kickstart health regen and enhance recovery for a short time” would be a really fun and powerful perk to run, but would be balanced by simply being in the same column as your damage perks. Most of the base ideas you put are blatantly OP, but they’re a great start.

              • i like the idea, but my thoughts: void - aoe that pulls enemies in and/or makes them suppressed and weakened solar - sun spots that if you enter slowly start health regen arc - small lightning strike from the sky that chains the nearby enemies which can chain further out but does less and less damage as it goes these would make them more like headstone, getting passive buffs doesn't feel like headstone imo

                Agreed. Players will probably say “Dragonfly” is outcome of what you are trying to allude to but it isn’t even close. Dragonfly is nothing more than a elemental version of Firefly which is just an explosion. Warlocks literally have an exotic that does that with non elemental primaries which makes the exotic less exciting by default. Headstone creates a crystal design or designated strictly to Stasis. Solar should create a Sunspot. Sunspot grants healing and burn damage for a short time. Arc should create a Storm. Storm chains lightning damage and grants haste for a short period of time. Void should create a Vortex or Scatter grenade effect. Vortex or Scatter effect weaken nearby targets and provides a small overshield. Thresh is another perk that needs something similar to it but it should be based off your super while gaining super.
