I really dont get why Bungie does this. You can have a fireteam but you cant matchmake a fireteam.

The timer is Bungle admitting that the quest is crap. Same boring enemies and an uninteresting location. Some of it is from D1. Pathetic. I didn’t pay to get crap like this.
-
5 RepliesI just wish there was no timers in this mission, I can do it solo but that timer makes it so difficult. I had to get help from my clan and thats something I very rarely ever do.
-
The Proving Grounds and Corrupted require more teamwork than this mission ,it could have had matchmaking
-
1 ReplyWas none in Presage either or hawkmoon so why expect it here?????

4 RepliesImagine some random new light, got the game yesterday, got the deluxe of the newest expansion. They went blindly shooting what they needed to shoot, doing what they needed to do. Accidently stumbles across the exotic quest, starts matchmaking 69 levels under, -blam!- up runs ands dies 420 times over. That's why we don't have matchmaking, to protect both new lights from -blam!- runs and getting yelled at and veterans from having to deal with new lights who can't fo sh**.

I see several issues with that. 1: AFK players expecting a carry. 2: you would have players skip story details 3: Missions like this require some form of team work for lower end players that just isn’t possible with matchmaking. It would be nice but would ultimately create more problems

30 RepliesEdited by hate n payne: 3/3/2022 10:25:31 PMBecause this game and the developers want you to use LFGs for everything. Going on a patrol. LFG. Going to the Tower. LFG. Eververse. Better get together on LFG and purchase that content. It is such an anti social game and they want you to be friends and mingle with everyone. It is like when you parents tell you that you gotta hang out with her friend’s kids.

Edited by Kurama: 3/4/2022 4:17:25 PMOnce you understand what to do in it and some timings you should be at, it’s pretty simple, especially at your light. Give it some more tries. Don’t be afraid to get out of the tank if you need to, you can spawn another one. Take out the spotter prions to stop the mortars. In each of the psion rooms during the final timed part rush the councilor psion, maybe throw a grenade at the group of enemies right in the door, then jump up and punch the psion to take out the psion mini boss. At the final boss the best thing you can do is make sure to take out the colossus and turrets up top and the gladiators that follow you, the psion and dogs aren’t much of a threat. Also if you lfg it there’s a pretty decent chance nobody will even talk.

66 RepliesEdited by hate n payne: 3/3/2022 4:28:10 PMI made a post earlier this month discussing optional matchmaking and in game LFG. It was a crap show of players using bad experiences as a reasoning as if it doesn’t happen in LFG designed lobbies or matchmaking at the lower end game content. Bungie just needs to put it in the game and let every player have a chance or option at any content in the game. Relying on some LFG application that isn’t in game because the matchmaking is lacking due to the developer controlling how you play the game is silly. How you gone tease matchmaking for lower end content with a terrible RNG system and then expect players to want to use an outside LFG system to complete content?? At least let the community earn their way into matchmaking for end game content. You should not even bother trying to persuade players who believe usIng META in wannabe esports Trials or Comp matches requires any skill, getting carried is OKAY or running LFGs for each component in the game even in QUICK PLAY are the solutions for balancing or fun in a game. This game is ran by developers who never use their community as a means to fix their game unless they are streamers, asking for nerfs or being toxic. Some of the community players are built around the concept that every player needs to use LFG or make friends as the ONLY sources for completion of content as if matchmaking doesn’t exist at all in game already or that each individual player engages the game at the same avenue or approach. There are players who love to socialize and engage with others and there are players who don’t want to engage at all but do want to complete content due to their purchasing for the game. It is even more saddening that Crossplay is an active source of matchmaking via consoles and platforms but matchmaking as a whole is lacking for all content even if it was an OPTIONAL thing. So it is okay for players to play against or with each others on different consoles and platforms but not matchmake with each other OPTIONALLY. Players are using Freelance for both Comp and Trials which is MATCHMAKING yet are against matchmaking in PVE end game. Make it make sense. FYI, there are players who don’t like the idea of MM for end game content but some of those same players also believe each player has their own free will to entertain the game whether it is via an optional matchmaking system or platforms designed around LFG whether in game or out. Too many players are governed by the logic of Destiny being a job versus a video game. So they create this elitist concept surrounding how players entertain the game as well as their own. Things such as being a: “Main” of a character when you have access to all three. They use this concept to dictate which class is better or worst whether in ease of use, skill or what is considered weaker or stronger. “SHERPAs” designed to supposedly help players. I have no quarrels with them but they do help coward down the players with their carry concept which in terms weakens the community in terms of responsibility and some of them via my experience do not have the patience to actually teach. “Getting gud” in a video game that doesn’t have an esports anywhere in site and the closest thing to it is players abusing the same behaviors and load outs to win. “Toxicity on platforms requiring feedback” against improvements to the game because it doesn’t cater to their current stance or favoritism. In their minds, anything is considered “whining” or “complaining” except for their ideals bashing against players providing feedback for a “Video Game”. Players are going to entertain the game by their own means and should be respected no matter how you feel about it. Providing feedback and expecting changes should be a natural occurrence in life because you do it everyday with your own self.

They added mm for the old Destiny 1 exotic sword quest, why is it so hard to add a mm for the lower endgame exotic quest? They have added a mm option to turn on or off too before, long time ago for some missions back in d1.
-
1 ReplyBecause it was a rushed mission with poor implementation

2 RepliesEdited by Melchizedek: 3/3/2022 4:08:05 AMLfg is the obvious solution to your issue. Mine is a little different. I am an escape gamer, not a social gamer. I don't want to plug in a mic, I don't want to chat.... But that leaves me out of several activities... I just accept it as the trade I have to make to play the way I want.

5 RepliesI really hope this isn’t what we are getting for a Presage/Whisper style quest this year, because it was really short and super weak.
-
1 ReplyBecause you can solo it with a blindfold 😂
-
Agreed
-
1 ReplyYou only need to find a team one time. After getting the exotic and you are going for the pinnacle, it’s faster and easier to keep reloading after killing the first champion.
-
1 ReplyDoes there really need to be?
-
5 RepliesIf you need help, the same app/site you posted this on also contains an LFG feature for finding a team.
-
8 RepliesBecause randoms are dumb. They do dumb things. Thats why. Use the fireteam finder. Make your own post.
-
26 RepliesI'm glad you're familiar with posting stuff on the internet. If you go to the Find Fireteam section, you can make a post and find people to play with. https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2/FireteamSearch?activityType=0&platform=0

Presage was the same.

1 ReplyJust grab a couple of peeps off lfg, it takes about 30 seconds.

I really dont get why Bungie does this. You can have a fireteam but you cant matchmake a fireteam.
? Does it need matchmaking? It's just basically a strike.
-
6 Replies
I really dont get why Bungie does this. You can have a fireteam but you cant matchmake a fireteam.
Instead of posting on here, go post an lfg.
-
3 RepliesJust do it solo. But in all seriousness, The timer with a matchmade group would be painful. The real problem I think is that the pinnacle is "kill champions" and a full run only gets you 48%

9 RepliesConsidering that there was no matchmaking for The Whisper, Zero Hour, Harbinger or Presage, I think it would have been a huge shock for Vox Obscura to have it. With matchmaking, you can't ensure that you're going to get a team with appropriate levels and gear to complete the mission, especially given the fact it's timed. That would likely lead to just as many complaints as there are now.
