Put a timer of X amount of hours or days on how long the items will be held before it gets deleted. This should promote Postmaster use as intended: to recover lost items, not to store them.
I'd recommend 48 hours; wouldn't be fair if someone sat in the raid for 24 hours for World's First only to find their stuff is gone.

I don't see the issue if people use their postmaster for storage.

Awesome so your suggestion of entirely not fit for purpose vault-inventory-post-blue engram system is to make things worse. How about An Auto-dismantle An inventory increase A weapon crafting rollout A single roll per type collection store An increase in Shard and other short stack mats capacity A long overdue vault increase These may actually help and not pour oil on a blazing fire.
-
Nah, I like it how it is.
-
Or let me hold more mats. 10 golf balls is 3 master worked exotics, thats not a lot.
-
You know what should deter people from using the postmaster as storage? https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360048717732-Deleted-Item-and-Character-Policy
Bungie does not provide the following services: Recovery of items lost due to a Character's Postmaster being full
-
Or why not use Dim or even Ishtar and drag them from the postmaster to dismantle them eezy peezy.
-
This is literally not an issue.

The postmaster works fine the way it is.

People already mald enough when they let it stack high enough that older stuff gets deleted, they’ll just cry and seethe even more if it automatically gets deleted after some time as well.
Which is something that I would -blam!- love to watch, please get on this @bungie
-
The game already deletes the items when it's full don't think we need to add two ways for it to delete
-
Why would somebody sit in a raid for 24 hours? Makes no sense.
-
Why do you care?
