How many years to a brand NEW exotic pulse rifle??? Not a D1 remake.
Last brand new exotic pulses are from the base game. We have gotten several good exotic pulse rifles but they are all reworked since D1. Love brand new stuff like DMT and Lotenz driver and duality. Very unique exotics. I mean 5 years for a brand new unique pulse rifle? Thats not good.

That's how many new weapons work in this game. You get an old skin....but new perks and abilities. But the problem is that Pulse Rifles fit awkwardly into a game where Bungie is emphasizing close-combat more and more. Pulse rifles can't manage the close range volume of fire of ARs and SMGs for controling hard-charging mobs. But they also don't have the long range stopping power of bows, SRs and certain hand cannons. ...and based on what I've seen of TWQ, Bungie is doubling-down on close combat.

I didn't realize how little pulses have seen lately. Would definitely love to see the 540 archetype get some love, although NTTE in D2 is very different than NTTE in D1 so I'd say that's the o-blam!- pulse users have had.

Wouldn't it be awesome if they come up with some Hive Themed Exotic Pulse with "life steal" as it's intrinsic perk? eg : Precision hits steal life from combatants (thus filling up your health bar).....or something whacky like that. I reckon a 540 rpm Exotic like that would be pretty cool...But quite frankly, anything will do at this stage.

Call me complacent but I really dont care if weapons are old or new I just want them to be good and worth getting. It would be nice if they could come up with new stuff but I care a whole lot more about loot incentive. Gjallarhorn for example. Initially I was skeptical about it coming back because I thought it would just be a nostalgia bait and the gun would suck. But it is literally pretty much as good as it was in d1 and now theres a strong rocket launcher in PvE. No complaints from me.

A energy based stasis bow that uses special ammo where precision hits cause slow or freeze to nearby enemies. Like la monarch but stasis as well. Make it special ammo due to pvp reasons.

2 RepliesI'm kind of tired of the notion that Bungie seems to only care about making hand cannons. Yeah they're plentiful but let's take an honest look at the number of exotic hand cannons since D2 entered its current seasonal model. Eriana's Vow which isn't a traditional hand cannon and Hawk Moon. Wow that sure is a lot of exotic hand cannons /s. [spoiler]Pulses are definitely under represented though. I won't even try and pretend otherwise.[/spoiler]
