We currently have targeted farming with seasonal engram focusing and weapon/armor and Season of the Hunt
These current farms are getting vaulted with the release of WQ but the TWAB still referenced the Helm and seasonal engram focusing being a part of the upcoming DLC
No info about crafting has been released but I am looking for speculations or possibilities of differentiating mechanisms that aren’t covered by focusing engrams/seasonal targeting
Or even hints from someone at Bungie, if possible
There will still be an “F2P” Does crafting only pertain to WQ DLC specific weapons? World loot pool? Activities?

Crafting will just be like doing bounties with guns you dont want to use, and it will take forever. It will just be a massive, boring grind, and probably limited to the point where it isn’t even good.

3 RepliesWeapon crafting means….. Weapon frames, perks, barrels, magazines Once unlocked you always have them You can now make your own weapon You choose the weapon type Then the frame, barrel, mag, and perks Mix and match any combinations you want Then you choose the stats in each column how much stability, recoil, aim assist, ect… You only have a certain amount of points to mix and match your preferred stats Then you name your weapon

7 RepliesI hope crafting is like this… You want to create your god roll (insert weapon name here). You have it drop but with 1 of the 9 options that make up a weapon that would make up your god roll. (2x barrels/scopes, 2x mag perks, 2x column 1 2x column 2 and the masterwork perk we have now) You go to where you craft the weapon and you ‘sacrifice’ that weapon to start your god roll and in doing so, you take 1 perk from the sacrificed weapon and it is on your weapon ‘frame’ (kill clip in column 2 for example). That’s were you start ‘crafting’. With each drop of said weapon, you can sacrifice it and take 1 perk from it and add it to you frame until your frame is complete. Then your grind begins for true mastery. You use the basic frame with no perks unlocked (just like D1). Once you have all the perks unlocked, it becomes masterworked. This means the stats bump up just like on Adept weapons right now (plus 2/5 to things like range, stability etc as well as the plus 10 to the masterwork option we have now) Hope this made sense. Ask questions if you want clarity on anything.

I don’t think bungie ever specified anything about weapon crafting. As for f2p, I wouldn’t be surprised if f2p players could craft a weapon or two to introduce the mechanic, but that’s it. Similar to how you can usually do a seasonal activity once before actually needing to buy the season.

1 ReplyAll I know is ,you don’t need weapon parts for weapon crafting🤔
-
1 ReplyEasy. We've had one for over a year and thoroughly understand, and the other we have nearly no information on how it works.

18 RepliesWe don’t know enough about crafting, But one thing I’m pretty sure about is there won’t be any F2P crafting system

2 RepliesOutside of the ship, the lure was absolutely pointless and a complete waste of time

8 Repliesthey said you will be able to craft around 80% of weapons in game currently. Prolly some new ones added as well. Yes i believe you will have to have wq for crafting.

I don't know but I sure want to see what happens if I put an Anarchy, Jotunn, GJally, and RiskRunner altogether into the Caster! Muhahahahaha

An example they gave was building a new glaive with swashbuckler, which is apparently very good on the new weapon type.

2 RepliesWe don’t know enough yet on how weapon crafting will work and which weapons we can craft. It is possible it will start with weapons only obtainable from the Throne World destination can be crafted. But maybe more will get added over time, or crafting will get moved to the HELM if it doesn’t already start there. There have been many methods of target farming weapons over the years, and weapon farming could take a little bit from any number of them. Or be something completely different. One thought I had was we would have to obtain certain crafting materials, not unlike rune collecting or lure mods. The combination was of which controls which weapon we craft and which perks we get. Maybe even where perks available to us for crafting will only be “unlocked” to craft on a weapon if we have already had that perk drop on the same weapon. Making it so you can’t just immediately craft your god roll. You have to “discover” the perks first. Another thought could be we have to use a copy of the weapon we want to craft as like blank frame, then apply crafting materials to select from the pool of discovered perks. Thus turning any random roll into your god roll. Maybe it will even be like D1 weapon XP. Where we basically “slot” the perks we want onto the gun, but then have to get kills/XP with the gun to activate the perks. There are so many ways it could be done, and until Bungie goes in deep on it with us we just don’t know. There may even be aspects of crafting they leave a secret until we get to actually get into crafting ourselves. There could be a final component to crafting that makes our weapons even better or complete that won’t even unlock until after a World’s First Raid completion. We just don’t know.

1 ReplyProbably like warframe weapon crafting where you choose barrels, magazines, gun frames/chassis. You will maybe be able to choose stocks and sights too

1 ReplySpecifics will either be coming soon as they stated. Other things we will have to wait and see. F2P will still only be the base game.
