DoE for catalyst is BRUTAL
To have the catalyst attached to a limited game mode is ROUGH. People complain about Gambit but Dares of Eternity is a drag. Necessary components of the game shouldn’t be linked to hours and hours of a throw away game mode

1 ReplyDon't be silly, it is super easy. Step 1) Ghost your friends and family. 2) Take painkillers so that you feel just as numb on the outside as you do on the inside. 3) Abandon all hope. 4) Play until you are old and gray 5) Your next of kin collect the catalyst. See? Easy.

5 RepliesDares is not going away in Feb. If you did only one DoE per day since launch with no multiplier it would’ve taken about 70 or 80 days (forgot the actual number of points needed). You would’ve finished before Witch Queen and not felt burned out. People grind their butts off to try and get something ASAP, then complain it’s a terrible event or boring because they tried to do it all right away.

It is every players choice to either do the content, or to not do the content. All this being said, the key to getting to rank 16 quickly is to never break your streak, ever. Took me 65 runs (give or take a couple), and got it done passively playing over 2 days. Folks who play 2 DoE, run a strike, play a DoE, play some Crucible … doing this will drag the grind out to literally twice as long as it needs to be.

I rather do this than 400 strikes for catalyst or Any pvp activities to complete a catalyst.

63 Repliesyou obviously never went after Redrix, or RTK, or Luna's, Recluse, NF, Revoker, Outbreak Perfected, Whisper. You think hours is too much? Try weeks. Bungie has made it very generous for casual players to get weapons and catalysts. You would not have survived Forsaken or before

Yep, I did the 72 runs the first week and burned out. But i got the meteor ship, so that's pretty cool. But getting to legend was a PITA.

I just hope they reset it on the 22nd of February and add new rewards for us that already have the catalyst done.

I think it should count as a playlist activity so you can get credit towards certain catalyst quests. Witherhoard Eriana Vow.

26 RepliesIf you do nothing but DoE you are looking at 13 hours of it to hit rank 16, providing you average 10 minute clears. If you do anything else that time goes up because you have to do repetitive runs again to get back to 125 points per clear. That grind was absolutely mind numbing. If I was on PC I'd just setup a macro and walk away 🤣

Still wasn’t as bad as getting the reckoner title before bungie nerfed reckoning and buffed the drop rate on the weapon drops.

The catalyst was nothing it took me 180 ( Not a typo)runs to get The Other Half with the roll I want. Funny thing is 2 days later it appears they have fixed the drop rates because I got 4 2 vorpal and 2 surrounded last night within about an hour.
