Longer Respawn Timer Was A Bad Change

The longer respawn timer was a bad change for Destiny pvp. If there were consistent safe spawns then it would be a good change. But as it is now, it just makes people wait longer and hurts the people that are still alive. Hurts people that are still alive as in, causes more 3v1 4v1 engagements. The change had the best intentions, but its not for Destiny 2.

  • It's not COD. Do run into the middle. Don't die. No timer. It should punish people for dieing.

    • Yesterday I spawned into a game already underway against a flawless stacked team where shaxx had just called mercy and I was spawn killed before I even had control of my character and then the mercy countdown finished. That just about summed up how crucible is right now.

      • Yup, literally 90 % of my matches go to time now. Feels like matches are artificially drawn out to squeeze out more playtime.

      • The best way to combat the spawn killing is to play some other game. Bungle really doesn't care until the population craters and no one buys their recycled content anymore.

        • Everything about the lasteat update was bad. I can live with the reduced ability/super times but the respawn times are terrible. I used to enjoy getting online every day or so to play some crucible and do my weeklys. Since the update came out im barely playing the game. I used to prefer destiny over halo cause of the shorter respawn timer and faster abilites Now theyre basically the same game. Feels like theyre trying to make destiny a esport or like theyre trying to compete with halo. Idk if they dont fix it im probably gonna not play as often. It ruined the fun for me.

        • Another bad change was removing all special ammo when revived in Trials. It's fun getting revived just to get steam rolled by people with shotguns ...

        • Best way to counter spawn killers is to give the one spawning in immunity for 4 or so seconds. This gives them the chance to kill people pushing their spawn without being killed and would help secure spawn points on maps better.

          • We are still using maps designed for the original D2 this game needs an overhaul not just rehashed spawn timers

          • They only do this because they don’t want us to have those extra 2 seconds of abilities.

          • My PvP experience since the change has literally been being farmed. Sweats now have the time to get to your spawn and wait for you to spawn kill you. That being said i got a ghost in the night again the other night 🤷‍♂️. But there should be safe spawns.

          • I disagree too often I wipe 4 people at once, and as I'm fighting the last 2 the other 4 have already respawned and are already in set lanes. Good change tbh.

              I think this is one of the cases where the numbers will tell the tale of how well it worked out overall. It may or may not be a problem. I know I can barely notice a difference and if anything it seems like it helps. If its just a matter of changing it because its frustrating people, or because they got used to the ohk/respawn shuffle that was supposedly more fast paced then they should leave it like it is. The matches I've played don't seem slower paced in any way. Some people might need to slow down if they are dying more than they were before but other than that don't really see what the problem is. Could be a problem some people are having though. Just not really sure if a longer spawn time is leading to more spawn kills or its making people notice when they get spawn killed more.

              • Longer respawns is not what we needed, NEW spawn points is. Especially on maps like Convergence where you spawn in the far back of the map, it takes way too long to get back into combat. And with the spawn change, it'll be literally like 15 seconds before you can get back to actually fighting, which is a LONG time in pvp
