The thing with last word is that it is easy to use but hard to master. Dont get me wrong, a casual could easily pick it up and get 30+ kills. But if you dont know the secrets behind last word, you will fail at using it with its max power, but yea its pretty easy to use.

The only secret behind last word is that it only works on controller.

Go look at cammys last word video, it proves that last word can be good on pc.

A top 1% player being able to "make it work" while playing against bots in quickplay does not ignore the objectively proven fact that the gun registers better on controller

Him playing 18 hours a day for God knows how long then cherry picking the clips where he does well with it doesn't make it good. You'll notice his video is one 3 tap kill, cut, one 3 tap. He's not exactly going on streaks with it like virtually any clown can do with a controller. He's atleast aiming near their head for his kills too. Controller you can spam fire center mass and still get handed head shots.

After watching the video, I'll have to give it a try. However, the problem with posting a highlight video is just that... it's highlights. How many times did cammy fail to get those clips? We'll never know.

Casual will not get 30+ kills in crucible, whatever weapon they use.

Im a casual. I almost exclusively play PVP on weekends. I use off meta loadouts. I average 36+ kills a game. The people who get less than 15 really arnt the people who opinion i care about.

I commented on two posts and I play this game once a week at most so I dont really remember, the gun is just pretty obviously overtuned compared to everything else and anyone who plays can recognize this

This here. Remember Forsaken last word? Playing high sbmm rumble lobbies was just; Play the game Someone gets mad and rage swaps to last word The whole rest of the lobby MUST put on last word to compete because when everyone is good enough to use the 3tap kill or the 4tap to the body, all other weapons become irrelevant. It got tiring REAL quick.

i think forsaken last word was the most egregious thing in d2 so far however at the time there were also things like one eyed mask pre nerf ace and no flinch beloved so everything was kind of a disaster

Yeah. Last word is just the best example of ‘the only counter to it is itself’ and that meta SUCKED. As you said, it wasn’t completely tlw’s fault but it was still horrible.
