I’m not sure immortality and super powers is the reparations I’d like to see given to a race that harbors great resentment towards humanity and the Traveler. Sure, not all of them, but it’s not like all humans chosen by Ghosts were always fine upstanding people. Not sure it’s worth the risk.

Also, everyone is basically immortal in destiny anyways, or live hundreds or thousands of years. Most of the fallen we talk to were there at the whirlwind. Missraks was there, every major fallen enemy was there that I can recall. The hive have no known death via natural causes. The cabal too. So I don't see immortality Ina a universe filled with constant final death as a big deal. Immortals that need therapy are better than immortals that want to impose sword logic on the final shape.

Having their memories wiped doesn’t mean they won’t get resurrected with a blood lust. Some humans with Ghosts became warlords. or they could get found and recruited by a zealous Kell with a grudge.
