Destiny 2 causing my PC to shut down randomly

Ever since the update that introduced BattleEye, Destiny 2 has been randomly causing my PC to completely shut down. It could be coincidence that this started happening around that same time, but I do not know. I can play the game sometimes for 1-2 hours doing constant activities with no issues and then it crashes, or other times I can be sitting in orbit for 5-10 minutes and then it crashes. There is no indication that it's going to crash, just completely random no matter what I'm doing. Destiny 2 is the only game this has ever happened to me in so I don't think it's a hardware issue, but again, I don't know. I have tried many different things and fixes to try and help figure out and fix the problem but nothing I have found or attempted has had any real positive effect on solving the issue. I have tried to contact BattleEye support but no response from them, and it seems almost impossible to contact Bungie about it. I will post my system specs down below as well as the dxdiag report that I saved from right after turning my PC back on after one of these crashes. CPU: Intel Core i7 9700K GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Super 16gb RAM Windows 10 All drivers I believe to be up to date dxdiag link: https://pastebin.com/vjy9YMMg Please if anyone can read and understand the report or the problem and offer any assistance, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have been experiencing crashing a lot ever since BattlEye was implemented. I had ZERO issues before it. It is just all too convenient. BattlEye needs to be investigated because I keep seeing people every day with the same type of issues. It is actually a disgrace.

I happen to have had this issue and fixed it by accident. If you have an MSI motherboard, or any on board overclocking or adaptive clocking, Destiny 2 for some reason will cause the overclocking to clock the CPU at too high speeds. If you cap your clock speed or turn of MSI Game Boost, it fixes it. EDIT: I have almost the exact same specs listed, just more RAM. For everyone I've talked to with this issue, it was an overclocking problem.

For those people using AMD Radeon graphics, check for the latest driver. For me Adrenalin 21.10.1 seems to be working well. I was on 21.10.2, and it was better than last week, but there was some type of contention with the system that still caused crashing. I really hope Bungie gets a handle on this soon so that I can go back to a decent resolution and frame rate.

      • I have had this issue to. Bungie need to acknowledge this sort of error. It’s obviously BattlEye as I had zero issues until BattlEye was introduced. It’s just all too convenient. My PC is 2 years old so it’s definitely not an issue with my PC, especially as all other games have run perfectly.

        • I had a problem that sounds just like this, although it happened with a few other games as well as destiny. it ultimately ended up being my PSU. since ive replaced it i havent had that happen once in destiny or anything else that would cause the same thing.

          • Try disable everything viruses protection firewall ect then try running Destiny 2 see if it work's. If that still doesn't work try resetting Windows operating system default and see if that fix the bug issue or w/e maybe making trouble in Windows operating system.

          • Hi there! Is there an error code that appears on screen when it crashes? What happens when your system crashes? What do you have to do to resolve this crash?
