Does anyone use MIDA in PVP?

Hey all, I haven't used MIDA in a while and I was thinking of dusting it off for some crucible shenanigans. I know that post HCR nerf it was dropped most of the community, but I've found it useful in Gambit vs invaders. So I thought about trying it again and I wanted to hear from anyone that still uses it in the crucible. I don't have the Catalyst and probably never will, but that's not really important to me at the moment. Thanks and have a good weekend. Sincerely, A dork behind the keyboard

  • Mida is still a great option. You can pressure and even kill from extreme distance. The catalyst used to be useless but they recently changed it from Outlaw to No Distractions. It now helps quite a bit

  • I don't. I kill it with Vigilance in Mid Range, Snipe it in Long Range & Shotty it in Close Range.

    • Mida is fantastic depending on the map, sure DMT is incredibly good, but the radar and speed boost mida provides is fantastic for duels especially if you can read your enemies strafe pattern quick, it still flinches people like a mother, I’m still working on the headshots for the catalyst but I’m sure no distractions makes it compete with DMT

      • I actually really like mida, haven’t tried it with the new catalyst yet but I plan to sometime. Fun weapon.

          • I do. Was even my most used/most kills kinetic last season. On bigger maps its just amazing especially now as HC range was nerfed a bit.

              One of my friends and go-to Trials teammates uses exclusively Mida, a sidearm, and tether. The super sucks, but smokes, stompees, Mida's movement boost, and 100 mobility make her strafe game with Mida and her in-air sidearm play scary good. She's got almost 20k PvP kills on Mida and can go flawless any weekend she wants.

              I havnt ran it for a long time but I remember pairing it, the mini tool and transversive steps on the lock was quite a fast build then run it with top tree dawn for even more salt....... fast in the air and on land 🤣

            • One of my friends loves MIDA. I still prefer my handscout True Prophecy, but MIDA definitely has advantages such as extra mobility, radar ads (I think?), and 100 Aim Assist stat.

              • I've been using it for a few weeks with an SMG... Best seasonal KD I've had. No one ever expects to be killed by Mida, especially snipers! Just peak shoot a lot and shoot immediately once you're out of cover.

              • I use it and have gotten the majority of my we run out of medals with it and a side arm. It struggled last season against the flinch from the 120’s but after they changed the master work it stands its ground again now. Wish it still had its movement speed buff though.

              • Mida is an amazing weapon. The catalyst makes the weapon viable in pvp. You can still use it without the catalyst but you will be flinched a lot.

              • I use MIDA often -- on the appropriate maps. I completed the catalyst a while ago. If you became an expert with MIDA, you will surprise many of your enemies, especially DMT users. Be advised this skill won't come instantly. You must put a lot of effort into it. Most players will give up long before they know how to use MIDA well. Part of your learning involves knowing when and when not to use MIDA. In general, you should always match your weapon primary to the map being played.

                If you’re hitting your crits regularly & don’t mind having to engage at midrange-distance+ then it’s a good scout (the problem is the 4 crits/1 body shot) for a kill - especially when the opponents perk shoot 3tap 120 HC’s, or just bail out/evade/[i]RTFA[/i] after your 3rd crit😆) It really deserved better (as a D1 legend) & the perks should have provided Opening Shot & Kill Clip (with the catalyst provided Heating Up/Killing Wind on top)

              • I used it a bit a couple weeks ago. It can put in some work. It's more of a Aggressive mobile scout rifle which is best at midrange. You want to strafe and move quickly, I like to pair it with stompess so you can harass and move quickly on the enemy. Don't use it to camp lanes. It's good for quick ambushes but may not do as well in prolonged engagements. I don't like to ads for to long with it. I also prefer the default sights to the red dot the ornament has. I'm just more used to it and I can see and aim better with it. Just make sure you put the sight on the top of a opponents head, like they're wearing a crown from burger king. Sometimes they may run away one shot but that happens with a lot of weapons. The advantage of mida in this case is the mobility of the gun can help you catch up to the target. --- Main threats are 120 handcannons at mid range. Long range threats are 150 scout rifles like Polaris Lance or Jade Rabbit. You can still beat them at mid range or long range if you stafe and use the weapons speed advantages. Also don't be afraid to hipfire it if you can't pull out your secondary weapon quickly enough. The aim assist will help you get some damage on the target. This is assuming the target is closing the gap. 3 bodyshot and a Melee will kill most guardians. Same with 2 crits and a melee. I would recommend pairing the wepaon with a shotgun. The weapon is still serviceable at close mid range but for those close range engaments you want a shotgun. I would obviously recommend felwinters lie. But a very interesting pick would be Seventh Seraph Cqc, it's a lightweight shotgun so it can be mobile and would complement the fast play style the wepaon encourages. You could also pair it with the mida mini tool. Smgs can work well. This one has kill clip and hipfire grip, I would either put a hip fire mod or a targeting adjuster. In air accuracy hasn't been a issue for smgs so I wouldn't recommend an icurus grip. I would recommend using the revenate hunter or a top tree dawnblade warlock. For titans I would probably stick with bottom tree striker. --- Titans could use dunemarchers to build up static especially with how fast mida is. Hunters use stompess or mask of bakris. Warlocks should use transverive steps.

              • I use it on big maps with a fusion.. works fine, you must limit your engagements to under 20m for the fusion and 40m+ for mida, Its an ok loadout and you get shredded by hand canons in 20-40m.
