Pinnacle drops are hardly ever upgrades after 1310
It feels terrible doing three strikes, or three matches of crucible, or three matches of gambit, or 8 Override bounties and not getting an upgraded piece of gear. This happens to me way too often and makes the grind after 1310 not enjoyable at all. After doing all the weekly pinnacles on my Titan and Warlock, at least 50% of the pinnacle drops were either the same light as the slot they dropped for, or one level lower at 1310. Bounties feel like chores, they aren't fun. Powerful drops are pointless after 1310 and Pinnacles seem to be as well most of the time.
Pinnacles should ALWAYS be an upgrade. Let me know if you need me to fix this for you, I am a programmer and would do it free of charge. But then again, it seems like this game is continually creating tasks that are meant to waste time rather than provide anything new and engaging. See bounties that make you use a side arm in PvP or get melee kills in PvP for good example. Whoever asked for this level of grind, I hope you are happy. When people like Gladd, who get paid to play this game, are moving on to other games that should tell you something.

Yeah I always get pinnacle drops in a row. On my Third pinnacle Energy weapon in a row at the moment. Horrible feeling.

9 RepliesPinnacles work if you are strategic in running them , so the +2 first to boost you then “ fill in” with the +1 and powerful to level for the next rank up. Don’t turn in the bounty powerful until you just moved up a level too. Exo challenge, harbinger, prophecy and clan are easy +2. Nightfall, empire hunt are harder +2 The rest are +1. IB is a godsend - potentially 12 +2 drops. The only catch is the rotten repeating RNG drops

7 RepliesPinnacles drop at +1 or +2 above max equippable light (dont have an exotic as max light item in more than 1 slot). I forgot which activities grant +2 but I know 3x strike/gambit/crucible grants +1. The 8x override bounty reward is bugged, it drops at max light (powerful). Presage is bugged the same way.

I already have 1316 gear. Conclusion? Your statement is BS. Feel free to check my warlock for 1316 gear examples.

2 RepliesOnce vault of glass drops that’s when ima start doing raids my raid competition on destiny 2 is way low than what i had on destiny 1 back then i was doing all raid challenges now i don’t do shit.

1 ReplyAnd they changed the light level cap to “help us.” To make it less of a grind. All I have to say is “lol” to that. At least before you would get drops that actually felt like pinnacle drops. Not something that is 1-2 above what you have (and there’s all of like two activities that’ll do that at this point since the DSC got left behind). Most things drop in slots I already have so it all feels useless. Sucks.

2 RepliesTo be fair, grandmaster nf isnt out yet and vog is going to be 1300, guessing vog will give good pinnacles with each drop, there just isnt anything that requires over like 1300 light yet and all the ways to get pinnacles this season dont exist yet.
