120 hand cannons should NEVER beat scouts or pulses at range

And the fact that Bungie is too STUPID to understand this and Complacent to make any change to this is why this game continues to be a joke. It’s not just that the range should be halved. It’s the stability and the handling too. Between that and shotguns, it’s a giant shit show. The stupidest decision to ever make.

    Scouts and pulses DO beat out hand cannons at range. The issue isn’t the guns, it’s the maps that have a majority of gunfights happening within 30m (hand cannon range).

    • They should bring back the flinching everywhere like in D1. I miss this Crucible, where almost nobody was whining and all weapons was usable to compete against others. The streamers are the shittiest example to follow. Anyway, this game should NEVER been released on PC. On console, no cheaters, no leaks and mostly everybody is even. Skills with a controller like it was originally designed for. I miss those moments. The PC version destroyed the beauty of this game. The Recluse, The Whisper of Worm would never been removed is tuned down (“nerf” I hate this stupid term). It ridiculise this game. That’s why they constantly tune up or down. PC use macros (almost cheat) to get out of the freeze while on controller it take me 3 times the time to get out. I can continue more and more... My suggestion. They must match mouse and keyboard together and controllers player’s together. With the crossplay coming this will be even more practical. Easy to do. When the match start. It disabled the mouse and keyboard. No chance to go around it.

      • Oh yea cause DMT is so much more fair to play against. Gtfo with your scout arguments. Noone but a handful of players enjoys using them. People like you crying about handcannons ruin the fun for 99% of the players and put overpowered trash like DMT into the meta.

          Bungie won't change anything about that, because they only look at their statistics and numbers, so they call it. You cant expect any pvp changes in the next 6 months that will have a big impact on the gamestyle in current crucible. Small maps, lot of covers. 120s with so much damage and enough range to play out any other weapon, stasis that outclasses every light subclass. I am expect some changes in february with witch queen.

                        So, what I am hearing is that you want more realism in your space magic science fiction game? If that’s the case, the issue isn’t the range and accuracy,...it’s the recoil. If a weapon of that caliber were to be fired unsupported, even with two hands and a proper grip technique, it should jump significantly more than it does. That should make target acquisition on following shots much more challenging. Anyone who has fired a S&W .500 revolver could tell you that. Nobody, double-taps a weapon like that.

                        • More map diversity with larger playing fields would be better. Currently scout rifles (and snipers) don't get to utilize the higher end of their range capabilities very often because the maps are more cramped. Add some larger maps and you will see the hand cannons be inadequate for specific maps and offer higher chances of weapon diversity based on map type.

                          • I dunno if it’s placebo but my igneous feels like it has some very strong bullet magnetism to it, same with my true prophecy. I think part of the issue too is how forgiving they are on a bodyshot comparatively to scouts; especially the high impact archetype.

                            • 120 handcannons should ALWAYS beat every gun. Try them stupid and realize what skill it takes to hit repeated head shots. Then you can cry all you want and realize you actually have to have some skill to play. When I didn't like being killed by handcannons and shotguns I learned to use them. You should to. Otherwise this game is a piece of worthless dodo that no one wants to play. Actually it is already but at least using skilled weapons and not crap cheap guns like Dead Mans Tale that rewards you for not aiming, are a step in the right direction.
