The Stellaris Experience
In my singleplayer game, I have a booming economy and a large military, but I'm right next to two Fallen Empires.
In my multiplayer game, my friend and I are surrounded by 3 Fanatic Imperialist empires, and an empire that just wants us dead. (My friend is currently at war with said empire.)

1 ReplyMe, a Xenophile Materialist Egalitarian Empire, somehow managed to make friends with a Militarist Empire to bully a Fanatic Militarist group. The entire rest of the galaxy apparently dosen’t like the group either. We also curbstomp them militarily.
