Increasing shaders from 40 bright dust to 300 bright dust is blatant manipulation on Bungie's part and it's probably going to get worse.
When I read the TWAB me and my friends started talking about the shaders immediately. Our general consensus was that it seemed unnecessary and a little "greasy" (looking at you finance team), but that it was understandable.
It seemed weird cause their reasoning was that shaders are now 1 time purchases, but they have been one time purchases since collections was introduced, so nothing changed.
Then I remembered that just this season (season 13) Bungie buffed the amount of Bright Dust it was giving it's players, ONLY FOR THEM TO INCREASE BRIGHT DUST PRICES ONE SEASON LATER.
I have always been on board with Eververse. It's a good idea that let's Bungie make a free to play game, but this is just a "-blam!- you" to consumers.
It's obvious that Bungie realized that an increase in Bright Dust made it easier for people to buy an eververse set for bright dust, meaning they might only spend 15 dollars on one set instead of 30 to buy two sets. So they created a completely BS reason to increase the price of shaders in hopes that it would reduce the amount of Bright Dust people have left over, causing more people to spend 15 dollars on their silver sets.
At the end of the day, it's not about the shaders. I really don't care about spending a little more imaginary money on a shader. It's about the fact that I feel like I was tricked by a company who just wanted money. And it's about the fact that this is two steps back. This is the first domino that people ignore that leads to more things increasing in price and eventually things going silver only.

Then that's what they'll give you. Game has changed. They've made it into a mobile free to try version with microtransactions not associated with the game. I'm just here to play a game. 1 ReplyBungie doesn’t allow us to farm enough bright dust to justify this. Upsetting. This is about pushing us to buy silver. And if the prices were not so high, I might consider it. But at $1:100 silver, the stuff at EV is just too expensive. Bungie is coming across as either tone deaf or blatantly greedy.

So here's how the story goes: 1.) 6 Months To Launch: Go on and on about the great changes being made 2.) 1 Month To Launch: Reveal the negative real reasons they are being made So how do we increase the cost of shaders? Simple, we'll add a small quality of life upgrade and use that as the reason for making the change. And here we thought Bungie were just doing this out of respect to the community...making our experience a little better just to make it better... Nope! We all should be hip to this jive by now. Bungie, you're being Jive Turkeys again...

2 RepliesFirst of all. This GAME IS NOT FREE TO PLAY! It costs $60 a year if you buy the content when it comes out. Second. They did not buff the amount of bright dust you can get per season, they actually reduced it (I've done the math). However; they made it easier to get especially if you don't play 3 characters. Transmog should be super super cheap as we have already done the work to earn these armors. Scumgie is poor without funds from activision, and can't make good content without reissues and reskins. They are garbage.

I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that Bungie is so absurdly obvious about manipulating players. On the one hand it’s extra insulting when it’s so lazily “hidden”, but on the other hand at least we know when they’re doing it? I haven’t decided yet.

4 RepliesI was first excited for transmog. After reading a few posts and discussing with my friends why transmog shouldn’t be locked behind silver, I got a little worried but excited nevertheless. And then the twab came out. I gotta say, I was disappointed. No one wanted transmog to be locked behind silver. But that’s exactly what they did.

Soon itll be bought by EA and rip Destiny Franchise. Its a shame they have a cancer growing within what was a great game dev company. A big shame.
