I don't think there is, but it's likely an order by the Vanguard or something to not exhaust ourselves too much, because there's likely repercussions for using Light constantly.
The only point I can think of is Shady saying in Mayhem "Let's see what you can do with no limits". That implies there's a (self-imposed?) limit to us.

This is a good point. Maybe no so much vanguard imposed(good theory) just an accepted thing Guardians have learned to do. In the lore there are instances that guardians have used multiple supers in a short period of time but only in extremely pressing circumstances. To add to this, we have to ability to let loose when we are at cruxes of light or darkness. Like the traveler missions in the base game when it was constant chaining supers. As if we were so empowered we didn’t need to be concerned about self exhaustion.
