Yes, it is annoying, yes Bungie yet again has ignored what happened the last time.
But the step is here, and we have to get on with it, but what Bungie should have done, was make this step Team Based then I dont think as many would be so frustrated and annoyed with it.
Its not a hard step, its not impossible but the difference with this step compared to the others is that we halve no real control over it. We have to wait for Heavy Spawn, we then have to hope we dont get killed get the heavy, then we have to hope that we dont get killed when going to use it and finally, we have to hope that we get a kill with heavy.
The others steps we have control, we can choose when to go into a fight, we can choose to back out, and if we die - dis’nae matter, because we can go straight into it again.
Having a step where potentially 12 people, are all vying for the heavy is not healthy for the game mode and detracts from how the mode should be played. But that does not mean, I think Bungie should remove the step altogether, but at least make it Team based.

1 ReplyI don't get what the issue is, use colony or truth.
-
Everything should be cumulative, retroactive, etc. Bungie makes playing the crucible punitive and I've never understood that, PvP should be fun.
-
Yeah I don't know why its not common sense to them that in a supposedly social game (thats violently anti social) where things like Iron Banner require teams, every quest given should be team based to get people to work... You know... Together... As a team. Who would've thought right? I'd be absolutely ok with that.
-
10 RepliesRemember when Crucible had two heavy banks...those were the good days
-
The only reason I don’t like the step is because it changes the flow of the game mode
-
Yes it is challenging but it's doable it takes time I completed it and as you can see on my details I'm not the most avid PvP player. so if I can do it those that claim to have some skill should be a breeze. yet again these PvP so-called skilled people have had their work swept up after them.

20 RepliesMad cuz bad
-
Since the problem is getting the heavy in the first place, they should make it in Iron Banner, if one person in your team gets heavy the whole team gets heavy.
-
Cannot believe they have re introduced it when last time they eventually removed it even though I managed to complete it eventually. Team based play goes out the window though. Hey -blam!-.
-
People are say Bunji doesn't seem to understand is it's not the killing that's the problem it's trying to get the heavy when you're playing against a stacked team because of no SBMM
-
6 RepliesHey, maybe I'm misunderstanding here, but honestly I can't see the issue with this step. I came back after a huge hiatus, was under levelled and was easily able to complete that step. Not entirely sure what the problem is. I make a mental note of the time on the Heavy, go get zones etc, then proceed to return with 10 seconds on the timer and get my Heavy. Took me no time to finish.

It really wasn’t that bad

Edited by Crystilonus2011: 2/26/2021 4:51:28 PMOk, team based it is. 30 kills as a team. Bungie is going to make it take the same amount of time on average one way or another. You’re arguing the difference between less kills and you have to get the kills or team kills count but there are more kills. You’re not getting 10 team based kills.

Here's a good way to fix it. Remove pvp for a couple seasons and rework it from the ground up. Take a good, close look at the feedback and remove the most toxic and obnoxious elements. Make it so that bounties are team-based and focus on the actual gameplay of the game. Change the weapons system so that there is no meta. Create a matchmaking system that focuses on multiple things instead of just skill based or just connection based. They can be combined with relative ease. There are many, many more problems with the core of the game, but let's fix these things first.

1 ReplyThey should just make heavy kills the LAST step and have it work retroactive.
-
1 Replyyou know good point, I remember in other IB quests that is was team based or fire team based, funny how they changed that
-
2 RepliesYou need to be playing like a jerk to get it done fast....it's not fun and breaks pvp....same whenever they forced a certain type of weapon for the old crucible only weapons.....looking at you sniper and linear fusion
-
1 ReplyAt that point, they should just auto-complete the step.
-
2 RepliesI don't like the weapon or ammo specific step in quests or in any activity. I did however have an enjoyable interaction with another gaurdian doing this quest step that I would not of if this step was not in the quest. I was trying to get heavy against another player and we fought over the heavy I had killed him and took the heavy and failed to get a kill. The next time heavy came up, I rushed over to it and noticed the same gaurdian was there again, I had decided to emote and allow him to get the heavy, he then killed me, t-bagged me and was off on his way.. The next time heavy came up I rushed to it again and sure as shit the same guardian was there, that gaurdian sat in his emote and allowed me to get the heavy, I then killed him, t-bagged him and was off on my way. I messaged him after the match GG.

5 RepliesIts actually pretty simple why this step was put back in to increase play time
-
3 RepliesIt is not that hard to do. The real problem is everyone are doing it the same time, instead of actually playing the objective.
-
1 ReplyI totally agree. The step isn't impossible at all, but it is really annoying with everyone competing for Heavy Ammo. Even more so with the amount of unfair/mercy games I keep getting. A team-based version with like 20-30 required would be better in my opinion.
-
2 RepliesThis one change would be good enough. Outside of Lumina Quest and maybe Stasis Fragment Quests, i haven’t seen a Quest where allies contributes in a while and those are in a Gamemode where a Squad play for the win by working with each other, not running away from everyone for 10 Power Ammo Kills. Epsecially when Solo queuing (not in Freelance though. That Matchmaking feature is a mistake on it’s own for Iron Banner).
-
1 ReplyIt’s not that hard when you have a team. 4-5 matches and everyone had it done. I read the comments prior to going in and expected it to take a while, but was surprised at how quickly it was done.

7 RepliesWhat I dont get are two things. Why is it when I fire wardcliff the entire salvo goes and hits three people for 230 damage each: no kills. But a single a single rocket that got lossed in translation flies and hits the guy standing off to the side for 31 damage hes dead. Also why is it when I fire wardcliff but die right before the last rocket leaves I drop heavy?
-
8 RepliesThere's a lot of "hope" git gud git the heavy. How hard is it to kill someone with a God damn rocket
