To people like you, Bungie says, "Go play the FREE version then, if you are so disappointed in the purchased DLC". It is what it is. Our entitled culture begets entitled players, which video game devs have to deal with. To that end, they offer "FREE GAME" plus "COSTLY COSMETICS". See FORTNITE and everything else that followed. Look around...it's all everyone is doing, and you know what? People come, people play, and people pay. You know why? Not because Bungie is without faults, but because Bungie's faults are not of their own creation, but were created by the entitlement generation in society today.

 • No, no... It's true! When we as consumers stop feeling entitled to content during this collapse of American capitalism that is upon us, we can be happy. 😁
American capitalism is failing because companies are becoming less and less concerned with the product supply being matched against market demand. This is the cost of pseudo monopolies being created with the lack of true competition. Lack of competition resulting from lazy, entitled, spoiled kids getting everything they want without trying hard. It's a true epidemic that no one talks about. But they will...in the history books.
• Got an MBA so I understand the concept and where you are coming from. My view on capitalism and all other socio-economic system is pretty simple, as long as people are involved they will find a way to exploit the system to their gains, period. What I don't agree with is that "entitled consumer" statements. I don't disagree that the culture for it exists but labelling everything with it. My time and money are more valuable to me than they are to Bungie, and if I don't critize them for vague statements on issues that causes deliberate up roar in the community, ignoring the said community, for false marketing, shaddy business practices, saying one thing and doing completely another, then I, as a consumer, am at fault because I kept silent. This would be entitlement if expected them to cater the game based on my schedule, my life, my playing hours, and abilities but that's not what I am saying (that's also not some of us who critize Bungie are saying either). I'd defended them like out regular fanboys here in D1 for 3 years. D1 had lots of issues, and I mean lots of them. I'd hunted Hawkmoon for 4 months playing daily, doing raids with all 3 characters, nightfalls on Tuesday nights in D1 or grinding the thorn quest in pvp for nearly 2 months as a non PvP player at hat time. It was painful. But I understood the issues because it was first of its kind, there isn't a manual for this but trial and error. What I don't agree with is doing the same mistakes in the 7th year of the franchise. Still staying silent about the community stirring issues but continue with marketing of the next season. As I said, I don't expect them to cater the game for me but for example, they can just come out and say this in this TWAB "Guys, there will be directoral piece about the issues of today, and what's happening in general with D2 franchise and we don't want to make comments on those until then". We'll then I'd be happy to know there will be solid answers. But again then, they have been sorry about not communicating enough before several times. So who knows at this point.

 • This post wasn't about a guy who didn't like playing... But didn't like what they were given in the paid content. Feeling it was subpart to what was given before. So, to them...they need to just accept it is what it is, and if they don't like it, play the free game...or as you stated, play something else! Whining about it gets them nowhere.

 • So it is not needed to accept the sub par state of the product and move on? What was your counter argument again?

 • My counter argument was that the entitlement generation is to blame...not Bungie.

 • Have you considered that Bungie themselves are also part of that entitlement generation and may feel entitled to charging the same price for less content? I don’t think this has anything to do with entitlement, that is just a simple minded scapegoat. It has to do with how individuals view the value of the product. Some still think it worthwhile, others don’t. However you fall on it, there is a valid criticism in the arbitrary removal of paid content (simply does not happen in any industry or service outside the digital realm) and the change in the quantity of content in dlcs for the price point versus what was offered before. And it did change, by objective comparison and by Bungie’s own admission. The criticism is valid because it is a rejection of their rationale, which again is fair. That is one way the consumer expresses their disagreement.

 • There's warframe that gives content for free and zero money needed to get something

 • That game is inferior in almost every way as a game play experience...so the Warframe argument is moot.

 • Gameplay? When destiny is basically space CoD while warframe is being an agile space ninja? Lore? When many lore in destiny is outside of the game while warframe has the lore in the game and you experience it instead of reading a wall of text? And what can you tell from the lore in the game when the traveler itself is still unclear what it is until now? Design? When more things looking uglier on the next season? Audio? When there's barely anything memorable outside the music? I can still remember clearly a blast of my corinth shotgun that based on a lion's roar Social aspect? When warframe has matchmaking and LFG chat in the game from the beginning while destiny can't even have them in game? Relevance? Last time I take a look warframe is relevant enough to make a name for themselves Popularity? Sure, a triple A game with Activision's backing undoubtedly will be more popular than an indie making a game in their brink of bankruptcy and success in making a name for themselves. If destiny is not more popular, it would be a laughing stock

 • There's a lot of subjectivity in your response, but I imagine mine is as well. Except for popularity! So, let's just settle on that metric for the debate. Destiny is not popular "because of Activision". It's popular because of (1) gameplay (2) innovation (3) sound design and (4) relevancy. Again, some subjectivity there, so let's settle on relevancy. Something we can prove. You see the Twitch numbers, you see the YouTube creators' numbers. You see people of ALL walks of life enjoying it. You see the community making a name for itself with their charitable endeavors. You see GuardianCon blow up to now being an annual showcase. There are no Warframe communities that come anywhere close to Destiny's. I give the devs credit, they're really good for the limited budget they have. But also... Who cares? Do a Google search or a YouTube search for relevant sites and videos devoted to each, and you'll see...objectively...that I'm right and you're wrong.

 • Gameplay? What gameplay? The shooting? That's basically in any shooting game so what gameplay? Innovation? What innovation? First person shooter with loot? Borderlands already doing this since 2009 so what innovation? Sound and design? When all auto rifle uses the same AR-15 skeleton with different casing for different foundry for some reason or pulse and scout rifle that uses bullpup design, not to mention the same reload animation, there's barely anything in that design that makes them stick out compared to warframe with fully different weapon models and reload Relevancy? How relevant this game is if ign doesn't put their fireteam chat and those articles that keep coming out with no apparent point I wonder With things going now? The numbers are dipping fast with their nonsense from sunsetting, reissuing the same sunset gears and other bad decisions, how big the numbers now? No warframe communities that come anywhere close? I guess you haven't seen Tennocon as annual event like guardiancon You're right and I'm wrong? When warframe is as relevant and as popular as destiny when you search it? I don't think so

 • Ya, that may be true, but Bungie doesn't seem to be hurting for money. Their business plan is a good one, so people need to stop knocking it...stop feeling entitled to some form of the product you wish it was, and feel grateful they make an amazing experience on a level unmatched in current generation games.
