It should’ve been Crow. He should’ve showed you the ropes especially considering he’s a “new” guardian. Then it could’ve ended with him being taken/captured (whatever the actual lore is) by Spider at the very end. Would be more “new player” friendly as well.

I think crow wouldve made a lot of sense for this reason. Also, when they initially revealed destiny in 2013, shaws camp is in the exact location where we first saw crow in the reveal (which was also referenced in the hawkmoon quest which is really nice)
