Don't Sunset Supers
Luke, no one wants to live in your "Luke Fantasyland". Sorry, not sorry. If you sunset ANY supers, Destiny 2 will die. End of story.

Think the article does a little disservice as it makes huge assumptions based on quotes. Is there a link to full interview? Honing an idea doesn’t necessarily mean removing altogether. May just mean altering to give it a central theme. The articles seems more clickbait than anything.

2 RepliesI guess it depends on if the changes make them better or not. I will say that if they force each class into a specific playstyle , such as removing all roming supers for titans, then that will not be good.

I’m sorry but this has been the biggest overreaction from the community that I’ve seen yet. I’m not saying this can’t be an epic fail on Bungie’s part, but this isn’t new news. This was actually stated in one of the beyond light ViDocs about stasis. If they do the classes justice and they feel as powerful and fun to use as stasis, then nobody will care that much. If they’re lackluster and not exciting, it’ll blow up in their faces. I think we’re moving closer and closer to my prediction of PvP being removed from the game. Which I personally think PvP should have never been in the game to begin with, BUT now that it is, removing it or ignoring it is a poor poor move for Bungie to make. At the end of the day, let things play out before we put Bungie over the lit flame. They’re going to try the things that they want to try, we should know that at this point.

1 ReplyI mean, thinking about the reasoning, it really does make sense. It may not be what people want, but honestly the theory behind all of his words in that interview was really spot on.

Wether or not the approach is a good one the idea is solid. There's no point in having 3 different arc staff supers when 2 of them are the same. Just as there's no reason for 2 fist of havoc's, titan shields, etc. On top of that we have a redundancy in supers in general. A vast majority of them are just different colored add clear supers. The logic is sound. We have redundancy and bloat. Reducing that makes sense. As much as I love Nova warp it is a rather redundant super that stands alone because nothing in it's tree enhances the super itself. It would make sense to axe that despite it being more unique than say top and bottom tree strider supers. However they shouldn't axe daybreak or well of radiance as they're both unique and distinct. They can simply give it the titan bubble treatment. Tap for roaming daybreak, hold for well of radiance.

i want customizable light subclasses, like stasis has, so that i can have weighted knife and blade barrage in the same load out. i DO NOT want supers to completely end!!! like, why would that even be a thing? supers and subclasses are a core part of the game! right?

Like many people, been playing destiny since D1 beta. It's had It's up and downs over the years. The way they're currently treating destiny and their players is shocking. They're working on a new IP. Honestly, can't see how they expect us to trust them on any future IP.

As long as they continue to have players on their servers while pushing whatever dimwit ideas they want the cycle will never end. They have made a habit of promising one thing and delivering something completely different since the game even went into production. When they said " [i]You see that mountain over there? Yeah, you can get there.[/i]" But, it never really happened the way they made it sound. Constantly there have been places or objects off in the distance that looked like really cool places to explore until you realize it's blocked off and it's nothing more than well crafted scenery. Now they have gotten to the point where they don't even put that much effort into stringing people along they just make a statement saying they are taking something away and you just have to deal with it. Ultimately, it's up to the players to continue supporting the company and the way they want to run the game or not.

1 ReplyThey didn't listen to anybody about sunsetting. Eventually they will turn light based supers into the 1 super modular version like stasis. So prolly goodbye thundercrash, goodbye nova warp, goodbye blade barrage. Replace with whatever tree luke smith feels is most "IP defining". Oof
