Luke, no one wants to live in your "Luke Fantasyland". Sorry, not sorry. If you sunset ANY supers, Destiny 2 will die. End of story.
Edit: Holy shit this blew up. Thank you for the support. @El Delicioso your idea sounds so much better than Luke's.

No shock here. Don’t worry they will sell them back next year as new supers .

21 RepliesMan, am I the only one who is actually for sun setting the shitty supers that nobody uses? 🧐
-
1 ReplyB-b-but he said it was a safe move and no one likes nova warp. He speaks for the community right???

7 RepliesUPDATE: https://www.pcgamer.com/calm-down-everyone-destiny-2s-old-supers-are-not-being-vaulted/

1 ReplyIts called vaulting not sunseting.
-
The only reason i play beyond light is because i pre ordered it like a idiot and im at least getting my moneys worth, i tried to get a refund before the game dropped after i learned of the lack of content but playstation pretty much laughed at me in email form. Luke Smith is the worst thing that ever happened to this game so he can sunset supers, he can sunset races, he can take away all the powers and make destiny farmville like game, makes no difference to me cause after the recycled dumpster fire that beyond light is bungie will never get another nickel from me.
-
Maybe luke Smith just wants the game to die. That guy's been making terrible decisions since he was able to decide anything for destiny.

2 RepliesEdited by GrizzlySchuh69: 12/17/2020 5:40:51 PMI think its best that we stop calling this "sunsetting". They are not "Sunsetting" our supers, they're literally completely removing them from the game, this isnt a spare rations situation where they crank down the light level, once they get rid of these supers. That's it. They're gone, for good. Forget the DCV, these things arent going in there. Luke Smith is tossing them into the void.

17 RepliesJust a repeat of what somebody else said but with my opinions. Supers should be combined so that you can use each one at will like with the ward of dawn. Press or Hold. Press for roaming I.e spectral blades, sentinel shield, dawnblade, nova warp etc etc. Hold for static I.e ward of dawn, tether, well of radiance. Aspects can easily be aimed more towards extra shields for sentinel, precision damage vs rapid fire golden gun, even defensive ward of dawn vs weapons of light. The new stasis aspects are fun and I like them but I feel they could easily just be a class ability customisation instead of an empowering rift or healing rift you have an aoe freeze, instead of a dodge that reloads or gives you melee energy you dive down to the floor and cause shatter. Or just make them a fragment. Other Abilities if customisation is what you want to achieve just give us the choice. As a melee option, you choose to throw a hammer you can pick up, shoulder charge or create a sunspot. 1 throwing knife vs 3 knives etc for the solar hunter, smoke bomb poisons vs smoke bomb invisibility. I’d love to mash up these things. Future Darkness Subclass after playing with the new necrotic grips. A poison subclass just seems like a dream, damage over time, aoe build focused to me sounds so good, thorn as a weapon. Hunter knives leave a poison damage over time effect, I mean cmon! Stasis Weapons how did you release a subclass with a new damage type and release 1 weapon!! Please make Coldheart Stasis! And make more of them. I am well aware this would be a massive amount of development and work for bungie would no doubt cause a huge amount of balancing to be needed, but that’s why we pay money year after year and season after season. Just one mans opinion and ideas. Feel free to pick flaws or add to, I’ll enjoy the read.

11 RepliesWho's perspective is this decision based on? I love Burning Maul and Nova Warp and I thoroughly enjoy rotating through supers, keeping things fresh and fun. Its awesome to be able to use different supers for different activities like PvE or PvP. It creates variety and balance in itself. Im tired of hearing how "successful" Stasis customisation is, we have fragments that give back class energy or add to weapon damage... WOWWWWW. Some game changing stuff there. Never been done before hey... Really defines customisation doesnt it? Now its set a benchmark for all other supers as a result. The amount of customisation available using armor and season mods gives us an opportunity to do so much better already without fragments. Sunsetting supers is literally the stupidest idea Bungie has ever had. They need to wake up before its too late.

I’m as big a skeptic of Bungies recent choices as anybody. But even I admit that what Luke Smith said in the article is as ambiguous as it gets. It sounds to me as though he was merely pondering out loud about potential changes in the most conceptual way. It’s not as if next season is going to see numerous subclass supers removed. Community uproar about this, at this point in time, is ludicrous. The fact of the matter is, the light subclasses are in desperate need of revitalisation and its bizarre to have such depth of customisation in one single subclass while the other 3 still utilise a 4 year old system which was barebones and overly-limiting even when it was released, nevermind now. Anyway, sounds to me like these changes, if they ever even come to fruition, are a long, long way off. He simply “mused” that nova warp is a subclass tree that sees very niche usage and is an example of something that they’d look at fundamentally reworking and as it is now, is an example of what they’d get rid of if they had to choose. Let’s be honest too, he’s not exactly wrong. Look, I’m no fan of Luke Smith, not in any way whatsoever. I think he’s had a net detrimental effect on the franchise, but the backlash he’s facing over this I think is severely disproportional to what he actually said.
-
Nah sunset them. Especially that Stasis makes most of them obsolete anyways
-
Luke Smith needs to stop hot dropping these piss ideas with nothing else to go on because it puts the community into panic. If he wants customization...FINE...then give us customization for Light Supers like in D1 where, for example, Warlock Radiance had an option to self revive. A specific Sentinel Shield allows players to hold to trigger a different super type. If Nova Warp as a sub-tree goes away, give players an option to still use it via long key press or a selective alternative pull like Radiance/Sunsinger/Self-Revive.

1 ReplyWhat gets me is the part where they talk about how a super is unpopular. We use what’s good which bungie literally has complete control over what’s good and what’s not. The only reason people are using Stasis right now is because it’s easy mode in PvP. I’ve literally watched entire teams be frozen and wiped by a single warlock melee. Supers are getting shutdown left and right by Stasis and honestly it’s ridiculous in my opinion.
-
I dunno why but I almost feels like he is trying to undo everything from Forsaken. Almost trying to make us forget that expansion.
-
1 ReplyOh god did I miss something? are some supers going away?
-
It won't die. I'm glad they're thinking about trimming garbage from the game.
-
5 RepliesWe need to have our supers sunset, delete this post and praise Luke Smith.
-
So did they get rid I nova warp is it like gone gone or is there new tree for it
-
3 RepliesI agree although I’d like the light subclasses to be revamped to have the same customizable format as stasis but without removing or drastically changing any super/ability.
-
I've heard that since beta D1. Destiny will die... Bladibla
-
I don't care if he sunsets nova warp as long as he put something new and cooler in
-
2 RepliesDude, who actually uses nova warp? Like, ppl say “don’t do this” but no one uses nova warp. I bring up this super cuz this one will get hit first if this happens
