It’s on sale for a few more hours help me decide.

5 RepliesThe season content/story is the worst yet by far. I’d say Beyond Light is like my least liked besides the last Moon one. Eris bored me to tears the same way the Stranger does. I literally just skip it all now. The story is so bad. What Darkness? Do you mean Ice?! Cuz it looks like ice. I hate the new subclass. And those shattering ice walls. Forsaken was amazing, story, content. That should be the standard. I paid 70$ for some special Beyond Light “package” to find out you get the Strangers Rifle after like two hours of playing. So I paid essentially 40$ for a ornament. P.S. isn’t void the real “darkness”? I mean honestly. Ice isn’t dark, it’s Christmasy.

Edited by MannixRockford: 12/16/2020 11:08:30 AMNot even close to worth it. - Reskinned weapons & armor - removal of hundreds of beloved weapons/armor only to reintroduce identical items with higher power caps. - 2 hour "campaign" with poor voice acting and cheesy cliched writing that repeats itself ad nauseam in different iterations and with different quest titles. - large percentage of the game vaulted with an insulting ancient (2014!) D1 area & strike reissued, which - in and of itself - is incomplete. - $15 emotes - 0 core game-play changes - 0 true economy changes - 0 vendor refreshes - Same events, absolutely nothing about them is new. Even the 'new' planet is an obvious copy/paste of others (but with muh snow) - no faction rally - no true anti cheat - no decent weapons or gear to chase past a few exotic cliches. - No new race. 2 slightly new aesthetic-only variants on existing races. - Same hamster wheel bounty chase for power and leveling up. The amount of money they are charging for Beyond Lite is a money grab to fund their new IP, obviously. $5.99 would be a contextually appropriate and fair price point. And the advertising/biopics/talk of "game evolution", to give you the heebeejeebees over how cool it will be? It's predatory and dishonest AF. As broken as Cyberpunk is now, it's still a much better value for your time than this joke. #justsaying

Don’t buy it!
-
2 RepliesWhat’s even more silly is that I bought everything on Xbox but when I log into my PC I am limited even if it knows I own it. I cannot play it on PC. I would like to play all my DLC on PC if I bought it fairly on a different platform it knows I have it because there are some gear and guns from the DLC that I can use on PC even when I rank up rewards recognize me that I am a DLC season pass holder on PC

Edited by IAGNRG: 12/16/2020 12:47:06 AMDo you enjoy destiny? If so buy it. If you don’t, then don’t. It’s fun, but I enjoy the game and wanted more. If that’s not appealing, I don’t think you needed the post anyway.

Edited by YATM: 12/16/2020 7:05:03 PMIf you have liked destiny to this point then you will like this expansion. If you were expecting something new, outside of a new sub class, you will be disappointed. I personally think it’s more than worth $37. By the way this is probably the worst place to ask for opinions about the game. A large number of people who post here haven’t played the game in years. Others are over reacting to their negativity and are drinking the Kool-Aid a bit too much.
-
At 37$ it's more then worth the money per hour of entertainment value you will get. That doesnt mean it's the beat expansion ever. It's ok. You can easily waste more money on something you would use less.
-
Unless you have a group that you enjoy playing with or if you don't want to find a group you enjoy playing with I'd skip it
-
no, bungies just gonna remove all the content eventually anyways since theyre shit at leading their game
-
Straight answer? No. Too much gone and not enough to replace anything. Content provided is overly repetitive. The Cosmodrome return is basically two lost sectors and a rehashed Omnigûl strike. I say if you really want to spend money go buy a six pack and a pack of smokes with it, if you’re old enough. You’ll save money and quite likely have a better time.
-
If you're a big fan of the game and play it a lot sure If not and you're just intrigued by the new stuff, skip
-
Destiny 2's content is just having you prep gear for the next raid next year. The power grind is tedious and boring. There is nothing fun about doing a strike with a dead main character talking, and a war that ended 4 years ago.

I like Beyond Light, I think it’s one of the better Fall Expansions for Destiny. Season of the Hunt hasn’t impressed me. I think it’s one of the weaker Seasons in this franchise. The weapons are good, and so is Hawkmoon. And the Uldren/Crow character development is great, but the Hunts themselves aren’t very fun, or varied. Having said that, this Season of the Hunt is supposed to run until next Fall, and many experts think that it will evolve throughout the year, and that a lot of its content is time gated. Last but not least, is the state of the game in general. Destination vaulting, and Sunsetting hasn’t gone down well with the community. As usual, it’s the investment team, and management decisions that are letting Destiny down. I can’t tell you if it’s worth the current asking price or not. On one hand, the content is good ( not great ), but the current state of the game isn’t very good.

I played beyond lite on game pass, the campaign is pretty meh... very cookie cutter. It basically feels like a tutorial on using stasis. The voice acting seems so bad, they all sound so bored... I was only able to play thru once... I haven’t played the season but I been seeing a lot of feedback on the season being just a grind fest doing the same old content over and over again with very little new stuff added
-
I wouldn't say its worth it. Really should be 20 at most for BL and 5 for the season. Quality of life of the game is still poor after all these years.
-
I am glad I waited with my decision and decided not to buy it. BL is good, but not worth the price. The season is boring, but the season pass ornament armor is cool. That is my view on it. I bought Sekiro instead and it was worth it, 0% regret.
-
Im afraid its not a good deal. Im a huge Destiny fan but it remain nothing from the game . Just boring and andless farm (before new sunset).

-
NO NO NO!
-
Beyond Light worths like 5 bucks at its best. Pretty awful dlc.
-
I was a day one player and have bought every dlc but on Dec 8th I uninstalled Destiny. This dlc has brought more problems then good and has made the game frustrating instead of fun. Also if you look at all the published game critic scores, they are all consistently low. You are better off buying another game.

6 RepliesYou are going to get all kinds of opinions but you should have actually made this decision on your own. I stuck it out this last year to see if Bungie would change and for me, all I have seen is things get worse as time moves on. Here it is 4 years later and half the game was removed Sunsetting didn't help anything because it was done very poorly Only 1 destination is relevant out of the entire game Barely anything was updated that I don't even notice any difference in what we had before BL The grind for power or progression means absolutely nothing being rest every 3 months The grind in this game keeps getting worse as time moves on The list goes on... Everything is there for a company to get this game moving forward, but this game has the wrong company working on it, and Activision with the other studios proved that.
-
Not at all. The fact that it is on sale should tell you everything you need to know. Guns suck, content is same boring shit after first few runs. Season of the shanks is lack luster. Bungle would have won worst game of the year if the Game Awards had such a category. Save your money. Bungie's soul purpose is not to make a great game it is to farm your wallet and time.
-
ATM No.
-
Upvoted because sad people were downvoting. As for your question though my answer would be NO. Coming from someone who's bought both the expansion and season pass i don't think its currently worth it.

Edited by The 7th fall: 12/16/2020 3:56:22 PMNot in my opinion because it took away close to 3/4ths of the game and replaced it a small amount of recycled content and will still keep doing it in the future since Bungie is clearly running dry on ideas. If it was around $20 for everything this has to offer then sure this might be a decent enough time waster, otherwise save your money.
