Xenology quest not appearing from Xur nor in the exotic quest section from the abandoned quest archive next to the Post Master
I had grabbed the quest from Xur when he showed up in the tower hangar 2 weeks and was planning on completing it. However my close clan mate wanted to complete the quest at the same time as me but had an exotic cipher for which they were saving for some gear in the future. So I abandoned the quest, thinking I can just reacquire it later. Unfortunately it has been 2 weeks since then and I have not been able to reacquire the quest from Xur nor the quest archive next to the post master. I do not have a cipher on my main character, Hunter, and am not too sure if I should check if whether my side character, Titan, has one or would be able to acquire it.
So far I have troubleshooted:
- I am not able to reacquire "Xenology" quest from Xur
- "Xenology" does not appear in my quest tabs under any of the categories
- "Xenology" does not appear in the quest archive terminal to the left of the post master under the exotic nor any of the other sections of the achive.
- I do not have an exotic cipher on my Hunter character in question
I will greatly appreciate any feedback to help trouble shoot this issue.

I have the exact same issue, and have had it for a few weeks now. It's very frustrating to read post after post of people having this problem and no response / fix from Bungie, since there is no other way to get ciphers, rendering the tower monument useless to me regardless of my glimmer/shard inventory supply.

3 RepliesTo clarify, are you unable to pick up the quest from Xur or does he just not have it for your Hunter. Also, it would be very helpful if you could check with your alt character and see if they are able to pick up the quest. If you had made any progress in the quest with your Hunter, it would also be helpful to know if the progress is still there for your alt character, assuming the quest is there.
