Bungie, the method we obtain cloudstrike is definitely on the right track. It’s a cool piece of loot that we get by grinding a specific activity. HOWEVER, we can take this one step further. Attach certain highly sought after loot to specific bosses in the game world, and let us farm them. It doesn’t matter if it’s a strike boss, lost sector boss, dungeon boss, raid boss, high value target, etc. We need more of this. That is one thing that made World of Warcraft fun in the beginning was figuring out what unique loot could drop from super specific enemies. Sometimes they were rare spawns which made it even cooler. If you could do this, I guarantee the grind would be more fun.
A good portion of my great D1 memories were farming for strike specific loot. It’s the chase that gets me. It’s that slim chance of getting that absolute god roll that keeps me coming back. Lots of people may complain that “I don’t want to have to grind for a god roll, I don’t have as much time as the no-lifers”, and to that i say this: the people who love to grind shouldn’t be punished because YOU don’t “have time to grind”. This game has turned into “god roll simulator”. Every season there are maybe 4-5 new weapons, and they’re churned out from some slot machine and they always seem to be the god roll. Once we have a god roll, what is there left to do? I’m so sick of god rolls being handed out left and right. I’m also so sick of going back to some decryptor to turn in seasonal currency to get a piece of loot to pop out. I want to kill a boss and watch him drop my loot. That’s immersive. This seasonal crap is not immersive.
