we lost alot of good weapons and none to replace it this was a bad idea from the start reissuing us the same weapons we already had with a new exp date is the most absurd developer design I have ever seen in a game period
-
Ditto you on everything! 👍🏻

1 ReplySunsetting was always a bad idea, it was just a way to recycle weaponry at a later date, anyone with half a brain cell could work that out based on bungies track record. I haven't played since and probably won't ever again, hopped into the forums to see if beyond light was any good, seems pretty average to me and they want even more money for it than previous expansions. You have to speak with your wallet unfortunately else bungie don't care. I still don't think after 4 years of D2 they really know what the game is.

32 RepliesThere is even some "hilarious" problems for new players caused by the sun setting. One of the Europa bounties or quest steps (I cannot remember which of the two it was) requires to kill enemies in a Lost Sector with Heavy Machine Guns: * The Lost Sector has 1210 power enemies. So a Sunset gun will definitely not get the job done. * The only Legendary HMG that hasn't been sunset cannot be acquired and couldn't be acquire during the last five month. * One of the Exotic HMGs can only be acquired if you own Shadowkeep. And considering that all Legendary Moon gear has been sunset finding players for the required Dungeon run is going to be challenging. * Thunderlord is a random world drop unless Xur sells it. There is clearly a disjoint between quest/bounty design and Sandbox balance here. P.S. I have both Exotic machine guns and wasn't affected myself. But I consider this a major problem nevertheless.

3 RepliesWhy are my high stat chest piece and helmet rendered useless, when I can get the exact same armor pieces as drops. They just have a different icon. Why even sunset armor in the first place? It took me a long time to find armor with good stats, and it really pisses off that I can't use it. Nobody is going to masterwork armor if it's eventually going to become useless. The ridiculous cost of masterworking isn't worth it. Plus, armor has too many stats for RNG to be viable.

2 RepliesAnd they still reward you with sunset weapons. Wtf?
-
Edited by dano the hippie: 11/14/2020 9:39:19 PMAnd no one will ever play shadowkeep keep stuff or dreaming city stuff because now they are so utterly useless. A real weird design choice,
-
This sunset turned out pretty much just like I thought it would. Plenty of people disagreed with me when I said they were removing a large portion (300-400 season 1-8 weapons included the moon stuff) of our gear just to give us like 10-12 "all new" weapons per new season, the rest will be reskins or reissues of some sort. I was right

3 RepliesI'm fairly upset mostly because most, if not all, of the armor they sunset is in the pool. Now I have to regrind my Memory of Cayde cloak. For now reason. I can't even focus one specific strike to try and farm it from, the loot pool is shared from what I can see. There's no way to farm it specifically. Sure I got an FWC Entanglement Cloak to use now, but as a Hunter...cloak meant something. Not to mention Hammerhead. That gun. I didn't need some god roll. It's base roll I got was perfect for me. Handled like a dream. Felt good to use. Sunset. My Antiope-D, sunset. Masterworked it because I love how it handled. Felt good. Was the base roll, not any type of god roll. Didn't need it. Feels bad that in a looter shooter I lose what I enjoy. Yeah, I've found a few things that feel good - Wishbringer is my go-to shotgun with the roll I got. The new Variks LMG is...ehh. way too much recoil, way too erratic. It doesn't feel good. Tldr sure I got a cool shotgun, but I lost my cloak. Meh. One day I'll get it back sure. Doesn't mean I should have to.

People were pointing this out from day 1 of the sun setting but no everyone kepts saying "OHHH YOU GOTTA WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT! IT WILL BE FINE!" Seriously people who shill and defend a company like said company actually care about them are the worst people. Sunsetting was, and shall always be, a garbage lazy system to fix problem weapons rather then bungie just nutting up and fixing the problem weapons, ie recluse revoker and mountain top to name a few. Like im really not shocked, and personally find it hilarious that people are just now figuring out what I and a lot of other people were point out was the issue with sun setting, there is not enouh guns to go around to replace them.

2 RepliesReissued gear at a higher level isn't a Bungie design, it happens in all lot based games.
-
1 ReplyHyperbole notwithstanding, there are some solid points made here. My biggest issue with sunsetting is that I was under the impression that I could still sue the guns/armor that I had in my collection, just nor for "power enabled" activities, IB, Trials, Raid etc. That is mostly false. With the Power Level being increased in almost every activity I can't use my God Tier Blast Furnace or my fave Shotty like anywhere. Patrol? Not in Europa. Maybe the Moon? That feels excessive and misleading. I understand their intention, that mountain top and Recluse and Revoker were way too dominant. And as an action MMO, they need help balancing the game and this will help with that. But damn. This hurts.
-
I always thought sunsetting was dumb. I had no idea it would be THIS dumb. No one was asking for this. Not even the dupes currently defending it.
-
Would've been better setting sunsetting at 2 years rather than 1 (so weapons introduced with Forsaken get sunset now, maybe reissue the Dreaming City ones)

Edited by AltYami: 11/13/2020 11:12:38 PMCalled it. Not surprised at all

4 RepliesDon’t worry. They’ll bring back all the weapons you already have in future DLC’s as features
-
It’s Bungo did you honestly expect them to deliver on what they said? Do you honestly believe they will give us weapons that are of the same caliber of Recluse or Mountiantop (pre nerfs)? Do you honestly believe they are going to replenish the weapon pool with new exciting weapons? No they are going to do any of that. What they are going to do is create every system in the game that forces players to play more. Sunsetting weapons, have to grind to get the new stuff then grind more for the right perks. Sunsetting armor, have to grind to get new armor then have to grind to get the right stats and high stat armor then have to grind for upgrade mats. Power level, again have to grind to get your level up to get right back to the same spot you were last season and the season before that and so on. If you break down everything in the game they all have one thing in common they are designed to make the player play more. It’s a way to artificially inflate their number for shareholders and interested investors They don’t give a shit about us, clearly.

People legitimately still defend this game. At this point I'm starting to think they're plants, sent here to gather info and brainwash. Or maybe they're just absolutely oblivious

4 RepliesWHAT I DONT GET IS WHY SUNSET THE DREAM BANE EQUIPMENT no sirusly the moon is now a core planet on the star chart why make every thing there but exotics useless
-
Edited by garg'o'doom: 11/14/2020 9:50:35 PMIt's just a lazy way to get rid of the pinnacles and make you redo the grind you have done. No content or work on their end needed.
-
2 RepliesHow about you give some examples. My inventory is loaded with useable gear.
-
I'm waiting to see how much we get each season. It feels to me like they're gonna drip-feed everything. Not sure how keen I am on that honestly... I think I'd prefer a bi-annual release schedule; one big chonk in the fall, a smaller drop to move the story along sometime in the spring. That'd be better IMO.
-
Just remember 3664 piece of gear were sunset.
-
1 ReplyWell two exotic LMG and a new easy to get LMG from variks
-
1 ReplyI don't see the issue. Most people were using the same loadouts anyways. You can't tell me that you used every weapon in your vault. Also, sunsetting isn't new. This has been a thing since D1.
-
3 Repliesay bro have y'all considered uninstalling and playing actual good games? I'm js Outriders might actually be pretty fire. Sounds like an amazing time to quit Destiny fellas. If BL is this big of a disappointment how much more will you take?
-
6 Replies: Example: Let's say there's 90 weapons, you only play with 20 of them, there's still 70 other weapons you'll 1, probably never play with, 2, it'll take up Vault space. With this season we have about 30 I think, so now we have 10 weapons that won't see usage instead of 70. :Example: See the point?
