The balancing has been completely out of whack since vanilla D1 in favor of hunters. Every time titans and warlocks got a shining moment, hunters cried and we get nerfed. I love when a hunter cries "wE goT ThE mOsT nERfs" when that just signifies that you all got "nerfed" so many times and are still broken, while warlocks and titans get nerfed ONCE and are rendered completely unusable. Bungie doesn't want hunters to be equal to titans and warlocks. Hunters are designed for the potatoes, no thumbs, kids and dad players with no gaming skills that can play and do everything easily with no effort or thought required. Why do you think hunters have been the most played class for 6 fuking years? If they get brought down to titans and warlocks now, it will kill their income so we will never see a true balance in the game.
The only thing Nightstalker has going for it is invisibility, the Supers are trash. Golden Gun is consistent but nothing special. Arcstrider is the only actual GREAT subclass.
Striker is phenomenal, Hammers is great, Defender is okay. All three have OHK melee.

LoL what?....Spectral is the best Super in the game... do you even play pvp???
The thing you short sighted hunters keep missing is that it's usually only one or 2 things about the other classes that y'all cry about and it's always the ONLY things another class has going for them. You people have the most versatile utility in the game and the lack of versatility in other classes makes you all broken af. The other classes are linear and predictable af and are flat out at a disadvantage when fighting hunters.
Your class ability is up every 9secs, is instantly cast and has a multitude of uses depending on your build. What rift can be used in the middle of a fight as a get out of jail free card? What rift reloads your weapon? What rift removes enemy radar, slows and disorients them? What rift makes you go invisible and breaks tracking while removing you from enemy radar?
You want to talk about melee. You have a knife that you can launch across the map, bounces off surfaces, and instantly recharges on a precision kill without the use of an exotic. The other knife sets you on fire and can be used as another trip mine. You throw a smoke bomb that either makes you and your allies invisible or that can be set as a trap that when triggered; blinds, slows, and damages the enemy that you all quickly follow up with a vortex grenade for an easy wombo combo. And when you dodge you get your melee back and can do it all over again....every.....9.....seconds.
I love how you tried to downplay your supers. People are so worried about everyone having crowd control come November but you've had crowd control since D1. Your arrows suppress, debuffs, and all but completely halts the enemy caught in it. When a guardian gets hit their radar is gone, their aim gets completely fuked and you can leisurely gun them down. The only issue that super has is user error because y'all try to use it as a golden gun aiming at the person rather than the ground or wall near them. Your spectral blades, the longest lasting and tankiest super in the game. Complete with invisibility and wall hacks. It's more difficult to even team shoot spectral and arc staff than any roaming titan or warlock. Speaking of arc staff must be so hard to deflect everything including nova bombs and spam your mobility for free. You mentioned golden gun consistency. I wish my nova bomb wouldn't consistently blow up for no reason killing me or leaving me red. I wish my seeker bombs would consistently spawn and actually seek out the nearby targets.
But warlocks have icarus dash and celestial fire right? And titans have to sacrifice their barricade and guns to attempt to charge someone not paying attention right?
I agree that generally, mobility options give hunters a slight edge in PvP (at least on console).
One point of contention, however: A high percentage of hunter supers are pretty bad. Tether is garbage; worst PvP super in game, IMO. If you doubt this, give it a try.
Likewise, all the arcstaffs, with the exception of middle tree, are easily outrun/gunned down, unless popped in close quarters.
Goldie is ok, but you’re so fragile that it’s very high risk.
Blade barrage, middle tree arcstaff and spectral are the only truly good ones (and I’d bet that spectral will get nerfed in Beyond Light).
I disagree with shadowshot being the worst pvp super for hunters. The reason why y'all think it's bad is because y'all go for direct impact and 9/10 miss. It's not a direct impact super. One thing I will say is that IF you do land a direct shot then the suppression should be instant.
If golden gun had super armor it would be broken af. The hit box in those wide ass bullets makes it hard af to miss. Only potatoes spam 6 shooter at 1 person and miss multiple times.
As far as arc staff goes they are far too difficult to kill without a shutdown super and harder to outrun even pre nerf nova warp. They spaz that spam button and abuse tf out of it.
