Did a 9 year old come up with that Subclass name? Atleast call it Darkbinder, geez.
You know what? No. Still sounds lame. Maybe call it something that has to do what Stasis does to things or something better thematically?
Edit:
After a brutal war, the Destiny community has struck down and utterly obliterated the shapers, arbiters and Highlanders so I'd like to take this moment to congratulate your war efforts. But little did you know...
I have more names and I will not stop my BS. Will maybe add more. Also, I would be interested in hearing your ideas because Ice subclasses are not easy to name as it turns out.
Warlock: Witherseer, Rimeshaper, Darkseeker, Abysswalker,
Titan: Vanquisher, Calamity, Destroyer, Paradigm, Ruinbringer,
Hunter: Darkslayer, Predator, Marauder, Reaver, Dreadblade, Cullreaper
Edit: Thought of names based on punishment and judgement relating to Stasis.
Imprisonment:Slowing
Exile: Freezing
Execution: Shattering
Yes, I know all classes do all of that but work with me.
Titan: Frost Warden
Code of Imprisonment
Warlock: Abysskeeper
Attunement of Exile
Hunter: Executioner
Way of Culling

So Shadebinder is lame but then you proceed to recommend names like Darkslayer lmao

15 RepliesHow you gunna complain about the names of a class and then proceed to make up even worse names than before 🤦🏾♂️

Ez mute

5 RepliesI would say bad b8, but you got a lot of bites. So... yeah.

12 RepliesYeah, maybe leave names to Bungie... You aren't exactly good at it...

4 RepliesNone of those names really fit with the naming conventions of the established classes nor do they really reflect the tone that the supers are supposed to have. The whole point of the subclasses is about wielding the Dark. Highlander doesn’t sound like something that manipulated the dark. Revenant does. For a long time, various characters have been talking about finding greater strength in the Darkness. Behemoth fits that idea. If not only reflects the strength of the darkness but also of the titan itself. Shadebinder not only fits the naming conventions of the other warlock subclasses, but also reflects the darkness-based tones of the new super. You also have to take into account that Bungie isn’t making these names to appease lore nerds, but regular players. If the average person reads the name “Arbiter”, not only will they have no idea what the subclass is about, but it will also make them think of the Halo Character. If someone reads “Shaper” they won’t understand the idea behind it. Same for Highlander. You read “Dawnblade” and you know a sword is involved. You read “Striker” and you understand that it’s about melee stuff. You read “gunslinger” and a whole idea forms in your head of wild-west quickdraws, knives, sharp aim, etc. When you read “Stormcaller” you understand lightning will play a part. What of the average player supposed to get out of “Arbiter” or “Shaper”? The names shouldn’t have players stopping for 5 minutes to think about what it’s name means. Lore should never be forced on the player. It should always be something that the player can explore on their own accord.

12 RepliesAll those names sound awful, and not at all connected to the actual subclasses as we’ve seen so far. The warlocks don’t shape anything, the titans aren’t arbiters if anything, and Highlander is just a stupid name. You’d have been closer to the subclasses purpose if you’d went with freezer, ice crude, and vanilla ice.

1 ReplyYour names are so much worse. Shaper sounds like an upcoming death metal band who wears jorts. Arbiter doesn't even make sense. And highlander also makes zero sense.

2 RepliesThis is a weird hill to die on

Warlocks stole the Hunter’s stripper pole idea

3 RepliesDid my guy just say that shaper is a better name then shadebinder

What stasis does to things.... You mean how it freezes our enemies....which is the darkness....and every dark area could be a shadow cast by the sun's/traveler's light. So we bind the shadows....

1 ReplyAgree it’s rubbish...

2 RepliesEdited by Ghostfire239: 8/27/2020 10:53:30 PMI mean it’s not THAT bad. Could be better, but it’s not terrible. I think the worst name in Destiny would have to be Arc Staff/Arc Blade like they didn’t even try, they just saw the two main visual aspects of the super (the arc energy and the staff/blade) and just called it a day. That being said Shadebinder isn’t the greatest name. But maybe they name might grow on you

3 RepliesEdited by SolarCerberuS: 8/30/2020 2:29:35 AMI do like you subclass ideas but the names you recommended sound more like nature themed subclasses, imo. For the choices Bungie made. Behemoth is fine and suits Titans. Behemoth sounds big and powerful smashing through objects makes sense to me. Revenant suits the darkness theme for hunters and as guardians we are actually all revenants it also imo would have been a suitable name for hunters void class but seeing as stasis is darkness in Destiny it does make sense. Shadebinder is around the only one I'm a little off with although binding to darkness I kind of do get it as in we as warlocks bind with the darkness hence shadebinder I think many are looking too much into the stasis name and overlooking the darkness aspect of it. I do like the names you suggested but they feel more natural to me If they introduce a life/nature based class spot on but they imo lack the darkness feel for me personally Shaper as in shaping the world around you fantastic for a nature/life based class Arbiter when I hear this I think Judge which indeed suits a Titans presence and reminds me of the traditional rpg paladin again based around life magics usually. Highlander definitely nature screams at me I have scotish ancestry and just the name makes me think of the Scottish Highlands green and lush again nature. I like where your coming from and there's reasoning behind your thoughts and creativity so props for that 👍

1 ReplyEdited by everwilling: 8/28/2020 12:59:19 AMSo darkbinder....meh!

3 RepliesNah, hunter name is fine. Revenant sounds better than highlander. titan is ok but warlock sucks, he should have been called Santa Claus.

1 ReplyShaper is a terrible name and the others deserve better too. Did a 9 year old come up with that Subclass name? Atleast call it Ice Warlock, geez. Warlock: Ice Warlock. It's simple, it's a warlock and he can control ice. That's why he should be called ice Warlock Titan: Ice Titan. Different from the warlock, the titan is a different class. And he controls ice. So it's an ice titan. Hunter: Ice Hunter. "Icy Hunter" could also fit because he looks kinda icy when he uses his super.

1 ReplyEdited by Vilhelmus II: 8/29/2020 5:29:13 AM
Warlock: Shaper. A simple and effective name, Warlocks conjure a Staff of Stasis energy to manipulate the shape language of the energy footprint that forms what we see as Stasis. Shapers are uncompromising warriors and true manipulators of The Final Shape.
Unnecessarily vague, and utterly enigmatic to anyone who is not ken to this game's lore.
Titan: Paradigm/Arbiter The lone arbiter the Darkness speaks of that will be uncontested and dominant. The way Titans channel power into the ground reminds me of an authoritative being deciding who or what gets to stand before it. The Stasis formation pattern is replicated from the Titans limbs onto anything. The Paradigm is an arbiter. A violent pattern and test that our enemies will fail.
Paradigm and Arbiter imply a sense of nobility. The new subclass is smashy icey smash smash. Not sure how you looked at that and went "hmm, yes, arbiter makes sense". Also, Arbiter is something Bungie already used as a title in a far better game. Best not to draw comparisons.
Hunter: Highlander The Hunters are wielding ice climbing axes! How did you guys not think of this?! Okay, this is a survivors subclass that would allude to the "harsh hell" the Darkness speaks of, the one where beings will prove they have what it takes to "go on being something, rather than nothing." Do not tame the wilds, embody all that they are, so that others hunt by your consent alone, for you stand at the apex.
Proud and brave O’ our fathers gave For the right to think as we do And in freedoms name we would stand again Once more Scotland for ever SCOTLAND. SCOOOOOOOTLLAAAND THE BRAAAAAAVE! SCOOOOOTLAAAAAAND FOOR EEEVERR!

Walker Caller Daw blade (singer) And now bringer Solar broke the name convention but stasis keeps following the convention.
