Solstice of Heros tied to expansions why?

Why is this i thought it was supposed to be a summer event for all but now i need to buy shadow keep to complete the quest to upgrade the armors lol like what fix plz? Complete a Nightmare Hunt on the Moon: 50/50 if you can do this without shadow keep Complete the Pit of Heresy Dungeon on the Moon: 100% you cannot do this without shadowkeep dlc Defeat the final boss in Altars of Sorrow on the Moon: 90% sure you can't do this either Like i have no idea why i should have to buy an expansion that is going to end in afew months with no new content coming out for it yet here we are NICE SUMMER EVENT lol

  • Well if you expect to play the game you should probably be supporting it. That being said, the point of the solstice is to reflect on the previous year (doesn’t do a very good job of it but that’s the point). You can’t reflect on the previous year’s content if you don’t own it

    • you can do the altars of sorrow, thats a public event type thing. but poh and nightmare hunts are not doable for non shadowkeep owners.

    • The solstice of heros is free to everybody. You just need to make sure you are at least power level 800 tobe able to start it. The magnificent objectives can also be done after the event ends.

    • If you haven't figured it out by now, the only reason Bungie offered D2 as f2p is to get new players interested enough in playing the game that they might become a paying customer. They want you to buy content. Is it working? No offense but I bought every expansion (preordered deluxe content each time) so far including new light... $240 so far, if you could play every single aspect of a game I have $240+ invested it would be a bit unfair to me and others that did the same

    • You rarely leave pvp, not like you would complete any of it anyways

      • It’s a summer event cause it takes place during the summer. It has always included everything prior to the event. 🤷🏻‍♂️
