Can't think of a single reason why not. At least reward them for the first raid completion of a week, with decreased chances of further completions.
- Cool, trending. Most read comments suggest this would be too farmable. Like I suggested in the OP, maybe on initial completions to start with. Doesn't hurt.

1 ReplyBecause then Bungie would have to give real strike specific loot to keep people incentivized in nightfall ordeals.
-
Bungie: We appreciate the feedback. We’ve heard a lot of talk about the reward system for Raids, that’s why effective next reset, you’ll receive no rewards so that there’s nothing to complain about. Keep the feedback coming y’all ‘cause we’re totally “listening.”

100% agree. Give us golf balls and prisms
-
1 ReplyYup. I’m a PvP main, recently completed Leviathan for the first time. It was a lot of fun. Got some cool guns ... that I can’t put mods on ... and that are about to be sunsetted. Got some really cool armor ... that won’t accept charged with light mods. Got some legendary shards. Aaaaaaand that’s it. How can an endgame activity in a loot-based game be so so so fvcking unrewarding?

2 RepliesBecause : Save at a raid boss : melt him every 3min. Enjoy XD.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Sur_GalaHad: 8/12/2020 5:16:16 PMbecause then noone would waste their time on master NF and trials...... Also because ti would break the economy people would just CP the boss and then run 5 minute boss melts /

4 RepliesYes id like to be rewarded for being a garden farmer
-
7 RepliesBecause they come from NFs.
-
Reward Ascendant per first completion each week. Its that simple.
-
I like raids. I get practically nothing for doing them. It’s kinda lame. All I get are extra points to boost my LL so I can access activities I don’t care about and likely won’t play.
-
1 ReplyWhy don’t most activities reward enhancement prisms, ascendant shares and so forth.. should be part of the pinnacle grind
-
agreed that would be a nice alternative option. Especially since I’m not 1075
-
2 RepliesA complete raid yes, CP Farming could get out of control
-
Bungie has heard you they will be rewarding rainbows and butterflies after next week's reset.
-
If they put Ascendant Shards in raids you’ll just get upset when you get Ascendant Energy that you don’t need anymore. Lol.
-
Because bungie wrote code for it to be this way. Unrewarded waste of time
-
3 RepliesCause raids take 15 minutes with Crown topping off the list at 30mins cause of how long 1st is? Raid Challenges should award the shards because it's icing on the cake for loot, similar to how Divinity gave you the extra boss chest, the prism/shard should just drop from the challenge chest.
-
Because raids are not challenging and do not need extra rewards.
-
short answer: Game bad
-
Because Bungie is hiding those materials behind a Nightfall strike playlist that has no relevance (and no loot) otherwise.
-
Why not just get rid of some/most/all upgrade materials?
-
Because those weren't introduced untill Forsaken/SK.
-
Ehy Sigh =) Yeah, that's a good idea. I'd see perfectly Prisms as Reward for Raid Final Loot Chest and maybe Ascendant Shards for an Heroic Version of it. Probably I'd put them only in the most recent Raid and not all of them, so with Beyond Light only from the new one and, clearly, only once per week for every Character. This could be an alternative to the Nightfalls.

2 RepliesHere are some possible reasons. I’m not saying I agree that these reasons as “right” but here are some theories: It’s because raids came out before this economy and these materials were a thing. Bungie wold have to go on and rework how the raid loot pool works. I guess that’s extra work that they don’t want to do. With how easy and farmable some of the raid bosses are, materials would become too accessible and ruin the grind. By adding materials to the loot pool, it would dilute the raid drops. So if you were farming for the 1kvoices, there is one more thing that could drop instead. So it would be even harder to get the raid exotics. If materials were added in a way that didn’t dilute the RNG, then the farm-ability and abundance of them would throw off the grind economy. Again, I’m not saying it’s right, just my theory on the way that Bungie thinks about it.

8 RepliesNo reason they shouldn't. Raids take longer than strikes and crucible matches lol
Can't think of a single reason why not. At least reward them for the first raid completion of a week, with decreased chances of further completions.
I would say add hard mode like in d1 but that would remove love for ordeal
